 Bored to tears!

I had to write a review on here as all the reviews on this film were positive and did not give a true representation of the film its self.
I went with a friend to see this film and we both agreed its absolutely atrocious! basically Ryan Reynolds spends what seemed like 3 hours in a box with no idea how he got in theres a phone in the box which he uses and thats about it. Thoroughly boring and very very long for what it is if youre like me and watch a film to see characters a plot different scenes and a decent ending then steer well clear of this.

 THE BEST THRILLER OF 2010!

This is such a simple film, but the impact is shattering.
I fully agree with movieaddicts review, the film is so tense that draws you in and never gives you room to breath. I saw it in the cinema and the whole experience left me truly numb. It seriously effected the woman in the seat directly behind me as by the end she left the cinema sobbing.
Forget the SAW movies, this remarkable film shows that you don't need lavish traps gore or gore in 3D to truly unsettle the viewer.
It's electrifying stuff and it's criminal why the underrated Ryan Reynolds never got nominated for best actor oscar.
This is thriller making at it's best.
An Instant classic!

 OMG. What an Intense Experience.

Initially was unsure how this movie was gonna work with no flashbacks and the entire 95 min duration in the coffin.
Was pretty sure that it wasnt going to work without a build up story and flashbacks.
But boy was I wrong, the tension gets cranked up to the MAX as the movie goes on.
After about 20 mins you are really in the box with this, in a paralyzed and Claustrophobic state.
This really is a Movie with a Roller Coaster of emotions.
You go through Emotions ranging from, Fear to Shock to Hope to Disbelief to Sheer Terror and a whole bunch of other emotions.
The one man act by Ryan Reynolds is absolutely Top Drawer, he nails the reactions to every situation presented to him in the 94 mins.
Surely Award nominations will soon begin to follow, for this talented young man who is defo going places.
The people on the other side of his phone conversations did there parts really well awell.
The Imagination in the Direction, Camera Angles and Sound Effects are used very effectively.
This movie is not a gimmick about a guy in a coffin. This movie is a proper Hardcore Movie Experience.
A Must Watch.

 'A TALE OF DESPAIR'

the film plays out 'man's' worst fears---being buried alive-----stuff of nightmares.
the film tells the tale of 'paul conroy' a truck driver working in 'iraq' who is captured during an insurgent's ambush on the convoy in which he was driving a truck.
he is captured, and this is where the tale begins....waking up in a wooden box and buried a couple of feet below the surface.
obviously dis-orientated he begins to assess his plight, trouble is screaming help from below ground is not only a waste of breath, it's also using up valuable oxygene, in lighting up a cigarette lighter he finds he has a fewn extra's alongside including a mobile phone.
he soon understands via the mobile he's being held for ransom.
the film, played out within the wooden box is often a tense affair, during which many of his attempted calls for help by way of the 'mobile-phone' falls on deaf-ears.
the largely 'one-man-show' is worthy of at least watching.

One of mans deepest fears is relalised in this simple excruciating thriller. The set up is simple,a man ( Ryan Reynolds) is buried alive in the desert some where in Iraq, but this movie is much more than that, it's a superb unrelenting panic attack of a thriller.
Although the subject of premature burial is nothing new, none have had the sheer desperation of this film, as Reynolds counts the hours until his captors get the ransom or his air finally runs out.
Reynolds should be nominated for a oscar for his performance as he pleads, screams ,cracks up and drops the big "C" bomb. Reynolds runs the full spectum of emotions from sarcasm to sympathy, as he desperatly tries to get help on a mobile phone that his captors have left him.
The film never loses sight of human story at the centre of this nightmare trap. Director Rodrigo Cortes ramps up the tension and anxietly to the point that it's medically necessary that the camera pulls away at the end of each chapter so the viewer can catch their breath and leaving Reynolds stranded in his wooden eternity.
Just like the character Reynolds so perfectly plays by the end of the 95 minute running time you'll be praying for daylight.
This is a exceptional thriller and is an excruciating experience that will leave you breathless and stunned into silence as the final credits roll. Some may say it's a one trick pony, but there is no denying that this is a daring thriller that even Hitchcock the master of suspense would be profoundly impressed and proud to have been imitated by.
Why this movie was not nominated at the oscars is a serious injustice, as for me it was the best thriller of 2010.
The Blue Ray picture is fantastic and you can almost pick out every grain of sand, dust and bead of sweat, and the lighting is perfectly captured.
The only gripe is the lack of extra features a 17 minute making of and two good commentries downt do this movie justice.
