To be honest, I adored this film though I did feel that it needed a bit of work. The acting was mediocre, especially from Cam Gigandet and Christina Aguilera. On the other hand, Cher, Eric Dane, Stanley Tucci and Kristen Bell were great. Cher, especially, blew me away. As a musician, she's a phenomenal actress and she's definitely underrated. As a musical, I loved it, and I watched it three times. The music was great - Christina was spectacular, though the acting - not so much. Overall, it's great.
It's a film to add to my collection for sure!
love it
I love, love, love this film! The song's are catchy, the storyline is great. The cast are all excellent in their roles. You'll find yourself wanting to sing and dance along with the songs. It's a great film and you will definitely enjoy it!
I really don't understand how so many critics have given this fantastic film such bad reviews - it is seriously amazing. It's not like High School Musical or Glee where the cast start to spontaneously sing a song about whatever happens to be occurring at the time. Apart from the opening song by Christina, every other song that is sang is performed on stage at the Burlesque club as part of the show. The singing and music is fantastic and the entire film is visually stunning.
This film is awesome!! Different to your average rom-com and a great watch. The characters are all really well played and very believeable, good storylines and fantastic songs!!
Cher is definatly the star of this show and her acting talents certainly match up to her singing!! A recommended watch and purchase to anybody!! x
if you like christina and you dont watch this film then you have missed out life is not about how many breaths you take its about how many times youre breath is taken away watch it.
Loved every minute and the songs...well you'll be singing them for weeks! I've never understood why Critics bashed on this when it's just like any other Musicals out there - Fun & Funky!
No, not really. But a nice film, with plenty of catchy hip-jerking tunes! I loved it. If you like a bit of sparkle and have a couple of hours free, why not spend it watching this inoffensive film. I was looking forward to it being released on bluray and I am certainly not disappointed. Cher, as always, was truly divine. Aguilera fabulous. From start to finish, nothing seems out of place, all seems to develop into a reasonably good storyline and the soundtrack merges seemlessly throughout. Might watch it again later!
I've seen this movie twice in the cinema, and bought the soundtrack first (great when you doing anything in or around the house) and just a few weeks ago the movie on Bluray; I like it mainly cause of Cher and Christina's singing the story is what it is. You can compare with other songsmovies like Honey or a little with Coyote Ugly (although that story is a little better) But nonetheless I love the movie! just enjoy the songs and the music and singalong :)
