"Britain's Got Talent" acts Flawless, Diversity and George Sampson feature in the thrilling Street Dance 3D. Put on your free 3D glasses and experience the mash-up of urban street dance and ballet like it's happening right in your living room. We love it so much we're dancing right now!

Things couldn't be going better for street dancer Carly (Nichola Burley). She's in love with charismatic boyfriend Jay (Ukweli Roach) and their dance crew has just made it through to the finals of the UK Street Dance Championships. But everything changes when Jay walks out on Carly and the crew, breaking her heart and leaving the street dancers' dreams in jeopardy.

Thrown in at the deep end, Carly struggles to prove to the crew - and to herself - that she can lead them to victory. Salvation comes in the unlikely shape of ballet schoolmistress Helena (Charlotte Rampling).

Impressed by the skill and enthusiasm of Carly and her troupe, she strikes the street dancers a deal: they can practice in the Ballet Academy's luxurious dance studio in return for collaborating with her ballet dancers. Helena hopes Carly can inject some of the street dancers' intensity and passion into her young charges before they audition for The Royal Ballet.

A clash of cultures ensues as the two very different dance styles face off against each other. After years of classical training, the ballet dancers are horrified at the crew's slouchy style, while Carly is increasingly exasperated at their uptight aloofness.

Eventually, and despite themselves, the ballet dancers begin to feel a grudging respect for the street dancers' spectacular moves. And Carly can't help falling for handsome ballet dancer Tomas (Richard Winsor).

Will the two groups of dancers find a way to work together before the Street Dance Championship finals and the Royal Ballet auditions?

 Britain breaks into 3D...

I went into this film with low exceptions. Low for the plot and acting of yet another "innovative" British film and low for the 3D which with few exceptions, has yet to truly impress me.

I am pleased to report that it surpassed them on both counts. Yes it is dross, the plot is thin and the acting is a shade better than a drama school improv session but the 3D was comfortable though not as striking as you might expect. But it was solid and reliable and didn't try to be anything more than it was.

The same can be said for the film. It was what it was and it did it well. Entertaining though not always for the right reasons and clearly taking a lot from the Step Up franchise, this is well worth a watch.

Good dancing shame about the 3D quality

Given that this film is really just a vehicle for the dancers and dance crews, the story wasn't bad. The sets, the lighting, the choreography and in fact the whole production of the 2D version was big budget, easily could contend with US productions on a similar theme, and the dancers were fantastic. My main gripe about this is that it isn't proper 3D bluray, I thought it was, which is why I bought it only to be disappointed that my 3D bluray player and 3D TV couldn't clean up the image and display it properly, even with the supplied 3D glasses (old school), the 3D image is awful.

In short, if you want a good UK production about street dancers mixing with ballet students, go for, if you want a 3D film, don't bother.

I saw this film in 3D at the cinema and loved it! Although I am very disappointed to discover this disc isn't a proper blu-ray 3D film! so it wont play 3D via my 3D blu-ray player! It is supplied with its own 3D glasses but the picture quality is awful and uncomfortable to watch!
