How To Loose Friends And Alienate People Stars Simon Pegg as Sidney Young, a disillusioned intellectual who both adores and despises the world of celebrity, fame and glamour. His alternative magazine, Post Modern Review, pokes fun at the media obsessed stars and bucks trends, and so when Young is offered a job at the diametrically opposed conservative New York based Sharps magazine its something of a shock! It seems Sharps editor Clayton Harding is amused by Young's disruption of a post-BAFTA party with a pig posing as Babe. Thus begins Sidney's descent into success - his gradual move from derided outsider to confidante of starlet Sophie Maes - and a love affair with colleague Alison Olsen, that will either make him or break him.

This film is so enjoyable that i could watch it over and over.
The cast is incredible.
You have Kirsten Dunst to play the "hard to reach" gal, Megan fox for the sake of her being Megan Fox, Jeff Bridges for his class American comedy and Simon Pegg to wind up people and make us laugh.
You cannot go wrong with this movie, Blu ray or not this film is Hilarious and Brilliant I definately reccomend :)

A Fun Movie But Nothing Special.

How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008) is a reasonable funny romantic comedy starring Simon Pegg, Kirsten Dunst, Megan Fox, Gillian Anderson, Danny Huston and Jeff Bridges.

The plot revolves around struggling British writer Sidney Young (Pegg) who moves to America to work at a high-profile magazine. There he clashes with the celebrity culture, falls for a young actress (Fox) and befriends his boss (Dunst).

This movie was fun in parts and features some laugh out loud moments but unfortunately there are problems. Simon Pegg's character is too obnoxious and pretentious, its difficult to really like him and want him to succeed. Pegg himself is not as funny as his reputation suggests. Megan Fox and Jeff Bridges are completely wasted in small supporting roles. Kirsten Dunst does a decent job without showing us anything new.

Director Robert B Weide is best known for his work on Curb Your Enthusiasm. Here he has crafted a fun and likeable movie but it lacks the cutting edge of his day job. How to Lose Friends & Alienate People is a good movie but nothing special.

The blu-ray looks really good and there's some nice extras including a commentary from director Weide and star Pegg.

 Good fun!

I watched this last night and really enjoyed it.

The Blu-ray transfer is very good, picture quality is excellent.

The film itself is good fun and I laughed out loud on several occasions. Simon Pegg is excellent as always and is very believable in his role. Jeff Bridges is great too and I loved the little chuckle he has to himself at the awards ceremony at the end of the film. Gillian Anderson smolders in her small role and Megan Fox is excellent too. Kirsten Dunst can be quite irritating in films, but here she plays her character really well and her relationship with Simon Pegg is believable.

As well as being funny, there are some very nice touching scenes and the ending is heartwarming.

Overall, the film was better than I expected and is a light, happy and funny film that I thoroughly recommend to all.

 Decent film

Went to watch it at cinema, wasn't a bad film but I wouldn't recommend buying it, just wait until it comes out on TV... or at least until they drop the price a bit.
