The year is 2047. Years earlier, the pioneering research vessel Event Horizon vanished without a trace. Now a signal from it has been detected, and the United States Aerospace Command responds. Hurtling toward the signal's source are a fearless captain (Laurence Fishburne), his elite crew and the lost ship's designer (Sam Neill).

Their mission: find and salvage the state-of-the-art spacecraft. What they find is state-of-the-art interstellar terror. What they must salvage are their own lives, because someone or something is ready to ensnare them in a new dimension of unimaginable fear.

I consider this a sci-fi classic. This film has a great atmosphere from the start with some memorable visuals, which are presented well on this disc.
This film also has some great acting particularly from Sam Neill as Dr Weir. I believe this film is Paul W.S Anderson's best and shows that he can make excellent films. He proves he has a great visual eye with this film.
Highly recommended for sci-fi fans!

Event horizon is a taut, tense, tightly scripted haunted house in space movie.By far the director`s best film. The special effects and a top notch cast are superb-as are the bonus features.Picture sharpness is everything you would expect from a major studio Blu-ray release. If you are looking for an exciting, thrilling, mind twisting sci-fi extravaganza buy this. It`s worth every penny.

Brilliant film, Great story, very dark and full of twists and creepy gory images, the cast is perfect, this is one of Paul W.S. Andersons best ever movies and is a worthy addition to any sci-fi DVD collection.

This movie comes alive on bluray.. the audio is creepy and atmospheric, and the visuals are pin sharp. Very well made space-set claustrophobic thriller, recommended to all sci-fi fans out there.

 Reasonably eventful

A haunted house tale - and a highly gruesome one too - that just happens to be set out in space, on a mysterious giant ship that has come back from God knows where after disappearing for 7 years. A crew is dispatched to find out what happened to it, only to find that the ship has some nasty tricks up its sleeve for them. Confidently directed by Anderson, with a good sturdy cast, there's a lot of incidental pleasures here, including some decent scares and some outstanding production design, even if it all gets very very silly.

A very good Blu-ray transfer, it looks absolutely pukka and certainly suggests that Anderson has a strong cinematic eye. Unfortunately he followed this film up with the not-very-good "Soldier" and the plain-awful "Alien vs Predator".
