It is not often that I become emotional during a film, yet I could not help shed a tear for the late, great Ayrton Senna in this fascinating and incredibly moving documentary.
It provides fascinating insight into the personality of Ayrton, with the help of many of the great names in the sport, and shows a variety of things including his passion for the sport, his unshakeable faith, his love for his fellow drivers, and of course, his unquenchable hunger and dedication in striving to be the very best.
An extremely touching and powerful account of the greatest racing driver to have ever lived.
the film itself is amazing and i can't rate it highly enough. Being an avid F1 fan i knew most of the story anyway but it's great to see it put together so well. I bought the blu-ray and i'm not sure that was worth it though as most of the footage is from the 80's and doesn't really benefit from the hd. The DVD version is half the price and probably just as good
Even though you know how this ends you can't help but hope that it doesnt. The film covers senna through the racing years with attention to his last season and fights with prostate. It's not so much a life story more a career history. Excellent.
A thrilling insight in to the career of the late Arton Senna.
I love this documentary. It is fantastically put together, with some good commentary from the people interviewed. Due to the age of the footage, there is no benefit to own the blu ray over the DVD copy though. As some people have said, it is mainly based on the rivalry between Senna and Prost, therefore the later couple of years when Nigel Mansell was driving are missed out. It is also sad that Murray Walker is not involved at all. But this is still the best documentary I have seen for some time. The theatrical version is much better than the extended version, which I would only watch once. It is too long and lots of waffley interviews are added. They are interesting, but slow down the pace of the overall film. Senna truely was a legend and this film shows his great desire to win and it is incredibly moving throughout with great music.
