i saw this on dvd and thought id buy it for my blu-ray player. possibly one of the best buys ive ever had. The stunning images with the deep colours bring the picture to life...you can even see the hairs on the penguins! If you have a blu-ray player or ps3 dont hesitate on spending the extra for the blu-ray set rather than the cheaper dvd option, its worth it!
I recently got given this as a birthday present and I was thrilled. The picture quality is stunning. The colours are immense and the detail is perfect even in the action shots. David Attenborough's commentary is nothing less than captivating and the music is beautiful. A must own! I've already asked for it's partner "life" on blu-ray on the basis of it being like this.
Excellent documentary with dts hd sound for disc 1 to disc 4.
disc 5 and 6 mostly have not Hd picture and are recorded in dolby stereo.
Did not expect this as a blue ray set but still worth it for the price. I fully recommend it.
I bought this 6 disc set on the understanding it was 1080p full HD, but when i put it on it was only 1080i, which is basicly 720p, i have a high end 55" led 1080p tv, and the picture transfer was grainy and not very impressive, in my opinion all bbc HD material is poor
