Unforgiven is an exciting modern classic that rode off with four 1992 Academy Awards. Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman play retired, down-on-their-luck outlaws who pick up their guns one last time to collect a bounty offered by the vengeful prostitutes of the remote Wyoming town of Big Whiskey: Richard Harris is an ill-fated interloper, a colourful killer-for -hire called English Bob. Gene Hackman is the sly and brutal local sheriff whose brand of Law enforcement ranges from unconventional to ruthless. Big trouble is coming to Big Whiskey...

'will munny' ('clint eastwood' ) once a ruthless 'killer' now lives on a small-holding struggling to make ends meet, he lives with his two young children, his wife had passed on '3' years ago.
a young rider appears and offer's 'will' a share of '1000' dollars to kill off a couple of cow-hands that had earlier disfigured a 'hooker'
'will' tells the rider he wasn't like that anymore, his dear departed wife had put him on the right path, the rider leaves but the offer is still there.
'will' starts to think about what the money would do for his family.
'will' collects a partner that used to ride with him in years past ( played by 'morgan freeman' ) they set off to catch up with the 'rider'
a would be gunman.
the town they are heading toward is run by a no-compromise,no-nonsense sheriff ( played by 'gene hackman' )
the film has several violent scenes, and yet 'clint eastwood' who also directs the film allows a few moments of humour at his own expense.
also included in this star-studded western is 'richard harris' who plays 'english bob' a notorious gun-man who arrives in town before
'will' and his companions for the same '1000' dollars.
the sheriff is soon on 'bob's case.
i have seen several films directed by 'clint eastwood' and have not
been disappointed yet.
if by chance you have never seen this late '90's' classic your in for a treat.
does the film transfer well on to a high-def format ? ...yes, but there
are not that many explosive scenes in the film that really show the format at it's brilliant best.

another great eastwood film with a brilliant cast and great acting from each of them. mixed with a great story and screen play, this is a must buy for any blu ray collector.

A perfect showcase for a perfect film

This is a superlative movie, one of the defining moments in Eastwood's outstanding career. Tough, mean and gritty, it boasts superb performances from a brilliant cast and now here it is looking great on Blu-ray. Jack N. Green's Oscar-nominated cinematography uses only natural light so the interiors are deep and dark, whilst still making the most of the starkly magnificent Alberta landscapes. An absolute must.

Super film, gr8 quality picture albeit cramped up between two thick black lines again - bigger the tv - the worse it gets.
Sentiment mixed with aggression, comedy, serious - Eastwood again has taken a steady old story of cowboy revenge and imported the best stars to get it accross in the best way possible.
Watch it - own it.
