Awesome revenge movie. Paddy Consandine is terrifying.
some people have an issue with the violence and the vigilante element, but that does'nt bother me as i a m on the main charcters side. Shane Meadows seems to be a brilliant director, already seen the Fanatstic "A Room for Romeo Brass" and very much looking forward to "This is England"

great movie, but noe subs makes this release laughable. Dialect can be hard to understand for non UK buyers.

  Excellent film

I believe this to be Shane Meadows' best film by some distance.
Yes, This Is England is good, but I think it loses it's way half way through.
This, on the other hand is gripping all the way through.
It has humour as well as quite explicit violence, but it's the story that really gets you.
There is a twist at the end, which you will possibly see coming, but this won't ruin the film for you if you do.
A high quality British film made with a small budget. Brilliant

  sort of interesting

This film is nothing really special, just a sub-par re-run of the usual revenge gendre film.

If you want to see it, get it on DVD not Blue-Ray.

Great film, but get the DVD

This is a fantasticly violent revenge thriller that I have owned on DVD for about 4 years now. It has a great and largely unknown cast. The story is excellent and will keep you guessing until the end. With the exception of This Is England, Shane Meadows has been on poor form since this. As for the blu ray, which I rented, I was very disappointed. The picture is 1080i, so not even the blu ray standard of 1080p. Similar to the DVD picture. The sound is very good. The film has a cracking soundtrack and I would say this is a bit better than the DVD. I think from memory, some of the extras were lost from the DVD also, which were decent too. Shame this was a lazy transfer to blu ray as it is a 5 out of 5 film and one of the best British films I had seen in a very long time.

  Good but some flaws

I saw this on DVD, so cant comment on the Blu-Ray transfer/extras, but can recommend it wholeheartedly to fans of British cinema or fans of gritty gangster movies. Paddy Considine is superb as the vigilante brother out for revenge, but the ending is implaysible, as though Meadows ran out of ideas. Well worth a watch though, as all the performances are top drawer.
