Please note that this film is only in 3D with the rubbish Blue/red card glasses supplyed and is not a 3D TV ready. Also a rubbish film. If they made a little more effort on the effects rather than CG it would be a lot better. Why have a CG nail when they could film a real one sitting on the side. You can also tell when they are using green screen.
I saw this when it came out in the cinema and thought it was really good. It fitted in well with the others in the franchise and the opening title sequence showing the x-ray deaths from one, two and three was for me, inspired. The 3D effect in the cinema actually made me duck as the debris from the car crash hurtled towards me from the screen. If this 3D Blu Ray version is as good as the My Bloody Valentine 3D Blu Ray then you should get the same effect from the small screen as you did from the cinema.
For the fans of the first three movies there are loads of references to the first three films. I won't spoil it for you by mentioning them here but you should keep your eyes open for them, there's more than the usual reference to 180.
I gave the film a four star rating as I was disappointed by the film not having Tony Todd in it. As fans will know he made a small apprearance on the first two films as the mortuary owner and even though he wasn't seen in the third he was heard as the voice of the Devil on the doomed rollacoaster ride. A small point but it would have made the film sparkle for me. All in all an excellent film which will appeal to the fans as well as lovers of a good horror. Hope they bring out more!
Yes it is hard to beleive that the guys behind these movies could come up with more clever ways to kill unsuspecting teens in the fourth installment of the supernatural horror series, but it is getting a bit all 'de'ja vu'.
Yes there wont be any surprises in store for you here, the plotline is basically the same as the others and will add nothing new to the series like the first and second did but mostly it is still all good fun seeing how the teens die in some inventive ways. Thankfully its better than the so-so third installment and the 3D adds something extra. 3D has improved alot over the past few months on its dvd and blu ray transfer its slowly progressing into something that will blow you away but for now dont get too excited about the 3D in your living room .
Overall a fun and enjoyable 'death trip' that doesnt really bring nothing new to the table but will keep you entertained, just let this be one to finally 'rest in peices'...
I watched this movie last night in cinema, I was bored. It'a not even near to other final destination films...the acting was poor, story line was weak. I'm big fan of final destination movies but I was very dissapointed with this..I hope they can come up with better one.
I saw this film in the cinema in 3D and really enjoyed the way that the depth of the 3rd dimension was used. I don't feel that this destracted from the story as 3D can so often happen. But I do think this franchise has now run its course. However it has been done justice with a credible part 4 to end the story. I would recommend that you rent this film to decide if you actually want to buy a copy. I am sure that the 1-4 box set will soon follw this release any way.
