Bought this based upon positive reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Good performances from the entire cast, decent special affects, original script and all at a bargain price! Buy it, you won't be diasappointed!

 A low key gem

A stunning example on how a small budget, decent script and storyline, clean acting and taut effects and cinematography can enjoyably fill a couple of hours.

If more directors followed this example and skipped overblown mediocrity (Robin Hood), then the movie industry would be in excellent shape.

A ver very good sci-fi horror film with plenty of frights and gore. Good cast with a few unknowns but with top head liner Dennis Quaid. Ben Foster is also very good in this film as he unmasks they truth behind things. Great film and anabsloute bargin price

 Dark and thoughtful Sci-Fi

Pandorum is a well executed sci-fi horror movie that explores some intriguing ideas about long distance space travel and a possible future of mankind. There are elements of the Alien films along with Event Horizon but I think there is enough here to grant Pandorum its own personality.

The Blu-ray Disc presents the film in 1080p at 2.39:1 and looks very good, though there are quite a few darker scenes that exhibit some grain - this is purely reflective of the film itself and unlikely to be a flaw with the transfer. Generally I was very pleased with the appearance of the film. The Dolby True HD surround track will scare the living daylights out of you on a good surround system, and with the ship's power malfunctioning there are plenty of opportunities for room-rumbling effects. Extras are modest but the 14 minute featurette on the making of the film proved to be better than I expected, giving some insight into the motivations for making the film and the director's approach. There's also a commentary and some deleted scenes.

Overall, a very worthwhile addition to my growing Blu-ray collection.

 Derivative but exciting and brutal

Produced by the team behind the amazing Event Horizon, the fact is blindingly obvious, from the lighting to the actual set design of many of the areas. However, there the comparisons fade, as this horror thriller is more like a space-age version of the Descent in style, with it's 'desperate humans battle to survive against crazed enemies' themed plot. It's made more suspenseful by the fact that the characters start with hibernation-induced amnseia which means they're learning what's going on as we are, and there are some wonderfully claustrophobic moments with the set design. Ben Foster makes a surprisingly good and engaging lead man as he struggles to restrain his panic at waking up to find the crew missing, the ship dark, and having no idea where anything is, who he is, or what's going on. The bad guys are very interesting and are used to great shock effect. And while not visually as amazing as Event Horizon, there's an effects shot in space that left us gaping with awe. It's fun, a little original, and very enjoyable.

 Surprisingly Good

Not knowing much about this film I took a gamble buying it but wasn't disappointed. Quite a few moments in the film have you on the edge of your seat - or hiding behind it. Best way I can describe this film is that it's a cross between the original Alien film and John Carpenter's "Ghosts of Mars".

Blu-ray quality seemed pretty good and considering the film has qutie a few dark scenes it didn't seem to suffer from picture grain.

This is a quality enough and original sci-fi horror which is probably only bettered by the first 2 alien movies. say no more. And the earlyer question of editing (nothing wrong with it) was most likely the style they chose to increase the tension.
