A brilliant film, a classic black comedy. A group of war-eager military men plan a nuclear apocalypse that is both funny and frightening - and seems as relevant today as ever. Through a series of military and political accidents, two psychotic generals - U.S. Air Force Commander Jack D. Ripper (Sterling Hayden) and Joint Chief of Staff "Buck" Turgidson (George C. Scott) - trigger an ingenious, irrevocable scheme to attack Russia's strategic targets with nuclear bombs. The brains behind the scheme belong to Dr. Strangelove (Peter Sellers), a wheelchair-bound nuclear scientist who has bizarre ideas about man's future. The President is helpless to stop the bombers, as is Captain Mandrake (Sellers again), the only man who can stop them...

Or How I Learned to Love Dr Strangelove

Probably Stanley Kubrick's most purely enjoyable film, this is a delicious black comedy about nuclear holocaust. Tricky subject to pull off, but Kubrick's matter-of-fact presentation of an entirely plausible escalation of ordinary events to extraordinary levels works a treat. Of course, it helps enormously having some great actors doing great stuff too.

Dr Strangelove (1964) is a classic dark comedy from legendary director Stanley Kubrick (The Shining). Peter Sellers stars in multiple roles supported by George C Scott, James Earl Jones and Slim Pickens.

Sellers is brilliant in this movie. His comic talent was perfect for the multiple roles. Scott does an early Patton performance and has some great lines while Pickens nearly steals the entire movie with his terrific over-the-top performance.

Kubrick also shines with his razor sharp script and iconic visuals. Just look at how many other movies and TV shows have been inspired by Kubricks war room.

Dr Strangelove is a classic comedy full of sharp wit and comedy characters. Some of the effects have dated but its a movie which somehow becomes more relevant with each passing year. A true work of genius.

Possibly my all time favorite movie

I love this movie; the cinematography, the cast, the acting.. Almost every frame could be frame and hung on the wall.

This blu-ray version is according to hidefdigest impressive, which in Kubrick's case means pretty grainy :-)
