watched the film on dvd then got the blu ray and what a differance, its like seeing a film for the first time, good sound and pics and a good movie too

Brilliant picture and sound, a real pleasure to watch.

If it doesn't make you think about what really happens when we allow our troops to engage in any sort of activity in distant lands, then nothing will.

And there I was thinking that Call of Duty 4 was an original take on modern warfare, but in actual fact, has been massively influenced from Ridley Scott's superbly intense and technically accomplished film.

One of the very few "modern" Hollywood war movies of recent times, it's very much a movie that concentrates on the action, rather than the true morality and inhumanity of war like Oliver Stone's Platoon or Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket.

Indeed, you're given little breathing space to think, as Scott scorches your retinas with breathtaking action sequences and gloriously beautiful visuals, especially on this full HD version.
It's also full of young acting talent, with a pre-famous Orlando Bloom as an F.N.G., Ewan McGregor as desk jockey turned fighter, Eric Bana as an ice cool Marine, and Josh Hartnett as an idealistic soldier whose conscience is pushed to the limit, amongst many others.

On it's original theatrical release I wrongfully dismissed it as a big piece of Hollywood propaganda, after my second viewing on Blu-ray, this is just an outstanding action film directed by one of the best "auteurs" still alive! One of the best visual and aural Blu-rays released so far!! At £13.99, just BUY IT!

Turn off the lights, crank up the volume on your surround sound and you're in for a real treat. The picture quality is superb, the sound is fantastic, you almost feel like you're there! It's an absolute must if you've got a big tele and a decent sound system. You won't be disappointed.

Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down is a very fast and action packed war movie which looks amazing on Blu-Ray.

The sound also seems improved and if you have a decent sound system then you will really appreciate the gunfire effects.

Definately worth a look and if your a fan then the Blu-Ray disc is a must.

This movie is a must on blu-ray, the quality is really good. It's a brilliant film anyway. It's a much better picture and details are more noticeable than DVD, like sweat and stubble. BUY IT NOW!!!

This film is brilliant, the sound is crystal clear in surround mode and the images are outstanding espicially the helicopters firing on the locals in the dark. well worth a purchase on Bluray

sorry about the title but i wanted to be different from the rest of the reviews, so here goes, even though i have given the movie five stars, that does not mean it is good, oh who the hell am i kidding, the movie is just one of the best action movies going, great storyline, great camera work, great sound, even better in Blu-ray. Don't rent it just buy it.
