Fantastic storey with imagination that Vampires face off against Lycans (werewolves to me and you). Kate Beckensale in amazing in this film as the super sexy vampire Selene who is helping a human called Michael who is the last in the blood line to make a hybrid containing vampire blood and werewolve. With an excellent performance from Michael Sheen as Lucian the leader of the Lycans who is in search of Michael. Also in this is Bill Nighly who plays Viktor one of the vampire elders who is woken up before his time. Action, sex appeal and a great storeyline a must have for fans of this genre

This is a fantastic film, great cast, great story, awesome effects, as its the extended cut you get an almost 15mins longer version of the film. The picture quality is good but indeed does not shine quite as much more than the DVD version, in places it does but not enough with the occasional grain! Still if you do not own it already its worth having. Maybe they will upgrade it at a later date.

The film itself is quite good. I dont think the picture is as crystal clear as some of the other blue ray i have. there was a few extra minutes to the film but it dosnt contain enough fighting between the two species for me. This is one of the films i have traded in and changed to blue ray. It is still better than ordinary DVD.

This film could have been better but is still entertaning to watch, good action, special effects and Kate Beckinsale in a tight leather suit would make people watch it even if it was a really poor film. Enough said.

  What a let down!

The UK version is encoded in mpeg2 HD and not AVC like the US version. The interactive 'setup' menu lets you choose Dolby Digital 5.1 when the disc only contains a DTS version of the sound track. (The US version contains uncompressed 5.1). Love the film even though it's a bit grainy but I would recommend buying the US version and get you moneys worth!

Picture looks great , there are sighs of grain but does look clear in dark areas.

Audio poor another let down from entertainment in video on the Soundtrack no PCM uncompressed unlike the US version of Evolution.

If your getting this get a import copy as you get PCM audio and i hear its a all region disc Wish i had !.

  Great movie but...

It hardly looks any different to an upscaled DVD when running on my PS3 or 360 Elite. It has grainyness and to be fair if you have a DVD upscaler or a PS3 or 360 Elite just get the DVD version.
