If you have not seen Forest Gump you realy have missed a cult piece of cinema. This film has something for everyone, it will make you laugh and cry many, many times from start to finish. The story takes us with Forest through a long list of moments in history (some famous) the SFX are so well done, Forset even talks to presedent JFK, Elvis and even addresses a 50,000+ crowd of people at a anti war confrence in Washington state to stop the US/Viatnam invasion. We even learn that Forest is the brains behind the acid house music happy face logo in the 1980's! This really is the perfect Sunday afternoon filck to chill out iwith in font of the TV with a box of tissues [for when you cry] and a nice drink...

Coming up to nearly 20 years and this film is still a brilliant experience.
The story is unlike any other story told, and it is told with a big Heart, Excellent Performances and some very deft SFX.
Over the years the film has become a bit of punch bag for being cheesy, corny and a bit soft.
And also because it beat Pulp Fiction to the Oscar for Best Picture, and even though I think Pulp Fiction is Excellent and better than Forrest Gump, is it not better to enjoy and appreciate both movies, rather than saying I like only this one, and the other one is rubbish.
Overall it is a movie to Enjoy as you watch this wonderful story take on a life of it's own.
Obviously it has it's dark moments but is ultimately an inspiring story.
Tom Hanks in the lead role fully deserved his Oscar win. The rest of the cast and director also do a fine job.
One of the best movies of the 1990's. Do Watch

I have seen this film many times on DVD, so is it worth getting on Bluray? in short YES. The extra clarity of sound and picture is amazing. If you have yet to see this film, I envy you, for 10 pounds you are in for a real treat. My all time greatest film of all time.
