Mel gibsons crowning glory as director and star. Excellant battle scenes, fantastic scenery. Bluray transfer is top grade and dolby true hd lossless soundtrack is amazing. Picture quality is a lot better on this than on the gladiator bluray. Watch on the biggest screen possible with the very best sound system. Enjoy

My favourite movie of all time made even better :D

This movie has a special place in my heart, I remember seeing it as a kid and being amazed. The music used in the movie is really sublime. This movie looks outstanding in Blu ray and november cant come sooner. Highly recommended, Enjoy!

As a history lesson this is deeply flawed, as a stand alone film this delivers on every level. this film looks superb in hi def (as expected). check out the detail, from the lush green scenery to the vivid red in the battle scenes and the fur on the Deer in the woods. This is the best transfer I have scene, why cant they all be like this? Until I see better all others will be judged against this.

Excellent Transfer - A1 Blu-Ray - Double Dip from DVD!

The film, everyone knows, is awesome - go read the umpteen reviews of the DVD for more info.
Here I just want to make clear that this is a superb Blu-Ray transfer. Picture is almost 'documentary' in the very beginning (panning shots of Highlands) and the detail in the costumes is superb. You will likely notice things that you missed on the DVD or at the cinema, for example heads of victims in the barn early in the film.
Soundwise it's a tip-top effort with the James Horner score sounding better than ever.
I haven't watched the new extras yet but happy to see a new package on Blu-Ray and not just a great transfer.
In summary, this version is exactly what everyone expected the recent Gladiator Blu-Ray to be - a showcase title.
Highly Recommend. JONW
