the special effects are great. the story is pretty translucent. overall it's not my cup of tea. but the actress is really hot, i suppose thats a bonus. not really worth buying tho.

Priest (2011) is a post apocalypse vampire thriller starring Paul Bettany, Karl Urban, Maggie Q, Lily Collins and Christopher Plummer.

This movie has some good ideas but its really let down by director Scott Charles Stewart (Legion) who fails to deliver any excitement or thrills.

Bettany is pretty useful in the action hero role but the rest of the characters are very shallow and struggle to make any impact. Christopher Plummer adds some class to the cast but even he fails to make this movie interesting.

Its a real shame because there is some decent ideas here and with a better director this could have been a very good movie. Its slightly better then Legion but thats not saying much.

Take a bite... you might like it!

I expected to enjoy this film, as its the type I go for and wasn't disappointed. Plenty of action, a nice take on Vampires, a fitting villain and pretty good ending. Paul Bettany as the grim Priest was pretty good although not one of his best roles in my opinion and Cam Gigandet made a good sheriff/side kick, but I think the show is stolen by Karl Urban playing Black Hat. If you enjoy vampires with a twist, action and a decent cast, give Priest a try.

This is most definitely one of the years top movies, action packed from start to finish with a very cool story thats well paced throughout! The cast is brilliant every person involved is great to watch and the special effects are top notch, the world of Priest looks amazing a very fantasy art type of futuristic landscape, this is a fresh take on the vampire genre and one of the best in a long time, it only runs at just under an hour and a half which is a shame I would love a sequel. This is most certainly one to watch! There are some good special features too.

a truly awful movie. it seems they have tried to mingle a matrix style of action with a 30 days of night horror and ended up with a lifeless, pointless, dull film. there is nothing positive i can say about this movie. avoid at all costs.

i was looking forward to this coming out. i havent read the comics but i think the storyline is quite an inventive one.
ill start by saying that this is not going to win an oscar, its short at 87 minutes (and could quite easily have been made longer) and this adaptation isnt unique.
however. this is not the film you are going to watch for anything other than a bit of fun. it has some cracking set pieces and some excellent actors behind it...and explosions and fighting and..........explosions
well worth getting and lets hope its the first of several in the story

A priest disobeys church law to track down the vampires who kidnapped his niece. Not exactly an unholy mess, but still a rather too pious retread of classic sci-fi/action/horror riffs that lacks originality.
