I really enjoyed this take on Sherlock Holmes Guy Ritchie has put a decent spin on the legendary detective and Robert Downey plays him very well and I was also very surprised by how well the usually rubbish Jude Law did as Doctor Watson.
The story moves along at a decent pace and of course it keeps you guessing right up until the very end like any good mystery film should.
The Blu-Ray transfer is very crisp, clear and sharp and the sound is spot on as well.
This set also represents great value for money as you get the Blu-Ray, DVD and a Digital copy all for sixteen quid.
Well worth buying to add to your Blu-Ray collection as this is a great set for the money and a very good film to boot.

What a cracking film. Guy Ritchie is back on form.
The two lead actor work so well together and you can tell they had fun making this.
The slow mo pre-fight scenes where Holmes is working out his moves work really well.
The atmosphere captures the locations & era perfectly.
Sequel Please!!!!!

  A Terrific Twist

As an avid fan of the original stories I was very sceptical about seeing a feature film based on the characters that I grew up loving. However, I was pleasantly surprised with Ritchie s adaptation. There is a great wealth of knowledge picked out of the stories. It should be made clear to fans of Conan Doyle s stories that this does not follow a strict chronology of Watson and Holmes's. Therefore, if you are looking for something that is a straight depiction from the stories then you may be disappointed. However the adaptation is fresh, modern and intriguing. Regarding the lead actors, Robert Downey Junior and Jude Law superb in their roles; Downey Junior in particular portrays Holmes with the youth, vigour and wit that the superb character deserves. Watching this film in Blue-ray really adds to the fantastic experience. Therefore, if you approach this film with a modern and open mind you will not be disappointed!

Went to see this at the pictures not really expecting much seeing that Downey was lead actor, but i have to admit that i was really impressed. It is very atmospheric, and as a lot of other reviewers have commented,it is a new slant on on a well known story. Both lead actors play their roles excellently. Can't understand the logic of selling a BD with a DVD,if you own a BD player, why play a DVD?Just a minor issue,a cracking film!

  Impressive reimagining

I was not expecting a great movie to be honest. I really rate Robert Downey Jr and I think Jude Law is a wonderful talent but Guy Ritchie?
GR's celebrity status got in the way as well as the couple of clunkers he made. But I was totally carried along with this excellent adventure/action movie. It is Sherlock but not as we remember him. A new slant on an old character and Downey makes it work. The production design is brilliant and atmospheric and the way GR uses the camera makes it all come alive. I dare you to hate this film-I was expecting to but just loved it to bits.

Fantastic adaptation of a true British crime classic!

There's not a whole lot to say about Sherlock Holmes, other than that you just have to see it. Guy Ritchie's approach to the classic story feels fresh and updated yet very close to the original books. Fans will be pleased by the amount of detail that went into the making of the film. Newcomers will be charmed by Downey Jr.'s magnificent performance and most of all, the chemistry between Downey Jr. and Jude Law. It's almost freaky as to how much they nail the relationship between these two.

The Maximum Movie Mode is a great experience but can only be advised if you've seen the movie already, naturally.

The lenticular sleeve is an absolute must-have for fans; it's high-quality vibrant and deep, the sort of collectable's that turn a rental into a buy.
