  Fantastic Movie

Just an amazingly skilful film, if the opening sequence doesn't touch you then you have a heart of stone.

Pixar's most mature work to date (but not in any way that means kids won't enjoy it)

Perfect film. Wonderful animation, script and voice work. This film will take you from very sad moments to very, very funny moments.

  A Family Masterpiece!

I have to say I was apprehensive about this film from the start, I dont know why but something about me just didnt want to watch it. But my girlfriend talked to me into it one night, so I just had to.

And I must say, I dont know what I was holding back on.

This is one of the best films I have seen all year, brilliantly put together with a great storyline fantastic animation and just general humour the whole way through.

It had me in fits of laughter. My Girlfriend in tears at several points. And when the film looks like its about to end there is that little bit more to give you that all needed extra. Thoroughly enjoyable 5/5 Recommend for all the Family!

  desparate drama / cheap action

worst trouble with this movie is a mix of audiences. it starts desperate and depressing and that part is meant for adults, it goes on for 2 year-olds so anyone beyond this age is as desperately bored and he/she was desperately sad at first. Overall left rather sad feeling than sweet entertainment you would expect from a children cartoon.

A beautiful, humble tale. Beware of tears :)

This movie deserves every one of the 5 stars that it has been awarded by me simply because it is the perfect Pixar movie. By this I mean that it appeals just as much to adults as it does to children, meaning the whole family can sit down and watch.

The storyline is beautiful. About a small child who is fascinated by the exploring feats of Charles Muntz and dreams of becoming an explorer. He clearly doesn't have many friends and bumps into a young girl with a similar fascination for exploring. Then you get treated to something which left me (a grown man) in floods of tears. A quick 2minute overview of his perfect life with this women, their marriage, her miscarriage then her death. It is so unbelievably sad and although not as emotional for children, it still shows how unlucky this man has been.

So, with an adventure scrap book left behind by his wife, he has the idea of flying to the dream place where him and his wife (Ellie) dreamt of retiring and getting away from angry developers who want to level his house.... By making his house fly with 1000's of helium balloons. It turns out a young scout kid who has been 'bothering' him is on his porch at the time and a huge adventure ensues.

Filled with your typical comical obscure animal type creatures along with an invention that allows dogs to talk, you will be filled with excitement about whats going to happen next. Every time Carl opens Ellie's adventure book you will be flooded with the tragic memories and be set to tears again.

It is a heartwarming story filled with unfortunate tragedy but then with a huge sense of fulfillment and satisfaction.

Buy it and sit down with you kids to watch it. You will all have different points to relate to but I warn you, keep the tissues handy because within the first 10 minutes you will be in tears :).

The Blu-ray picture quality looks absolutely incredible too, which I would never have doubted with Pixar as all their Blu-ray animations are well executed. One part to note is just how incredible and realistic the 1000's of balloons look that make the house fly. As the house takes off in the middle of the city, it looks almost as though you can reach out and grab them.

Incredible story and incredible picture in HD :).

This is the best Disney/Pixar movie I've seen in a long time and the blu-ray picture quality is the best I've seen yet! Very funny film with a very touching undertone throughout - kids and adults will both love this epic!

The 1st 10 minutes will break your heart, with simple, beautiful, virtually no dialogue storytelling. instantly making you empathise with Carl's demeanour. pixar's most mature film to date, again appeals to children and adults alike. Lushly paletted landscapes and perfect soundtrack soar on Blu-Ray to deliver a heartwarming fantastic adventure.

Yet again Pixar have made a brilliant film for both adults a children.
The "Cloudy Day" short that is a bonus feature is a work of art on it's own. Stunning visuals! A must have dvd.

This is by far the best quality Blu-Ray movie i have ever laid eyes on. The Colours are crisp and vibrant and the Movie itslef is superb. The Blu-ray also has a Home Theatre setup option which enables you to setup Colour, Contrast and Gamma to view the movie as intended. Perfect in every way.
