Brilliant film from when i was younger and it still brilliant now. Yeah the effects and locations my be a bit dated but this is a timeless classic. Children now will love this film it has got some scary bits in it with the nothing but other from that brilliant family adventure.

This is a five star film for me, one of my favourites as a child and still fills me with nostalgia when i watch it now, however i have to say how bitterly disappointed to the non-existant extras content which is featured on this blu-ray release.
When The Goonies was released some years ago on DVD and subsequently on blu-ray, the package put together by Warner Bros. was incredible.
A feature length commentary with the now grown up Goonies plus Director Richard Donner which provided so much amusement and insight into the film, not to mention deleted scenes and a Making of and lots of other extras including a music video of Goonies R Good Enough by Cyndi Lauper.
For The Neverending Story, a film which equally has a massive cult audience and continues to enchant children across the world aswell as those who saw it at the cinema when we were little, we are given....somewhat ironically in reference to the film's villain, " Nothing ".
Surely Warner Bros could have put together a " Memories of Neverending Story " featuring the three actors who took the lead roles, Noah Hathaway, Barret Oliver and Tami Stronach, not to mention Alan Oppenheimer who voiced Falkor, this would have been similar to that which was given to the Region One Director's Cut release of Ridley Scott's 1985 fantasy epic Legend, and perhaps a few deleted scenes, even the music video from Limahl would have been nice, but nope, we are given nothing.
I truly hope Warner Bross will take another look at this film and give it the Special Edition treatment it so richly deserves as i know many kids of the 80's who were left gutted with this bare bones package.

This is one my favourite childhood films, its a real uplifting family film which would captivate kids and adults alike. A good example of eighties american fantasy films, 10/10.

Old review...**I've been waiting for this for ages! One of my all time favourite films that has really stood the test of time unlike others (I'm thinking Labyrinth...). I really hope they will do a good job with the AV, as I heard that the German Blu Ray wasn't too hot on the picture front. Some decent extras wouldn't go a miss!!!**

Right, now I own it, I can't say I'm too impressed. It's REALLY dark. Really dark!!!! I turned up my brightness and it looked even worse. Seriously disappointed. The colour is all messed up too - especially when Atreyu turns up at the beginning - it looks like he's spent the best part of his life on an industrial tanning bed! Next time Warner, oversee the transfer with Wolfgang Peterson.

Also, what on earth is up with the trailer on this page?!?!?!? Why not have the original theatrical one, instead of something that looks like it was done by a film student in a drug-fuelled haze - whats up with the music?!? Robin Hood? Gawd knows what that other track is!

Anyway, bring on March!

This is indeed the greatest children's film ever made! Such a classic and enchanting magical story so full of amazing characters and creatures. The story is fantastic and has upsetting and scary moments, the movie is so original and nothing like anything else. It will always remain a classic lovable movie and will look awesome on blu-ray, lets hope one day this film will actually get some special features.
