"Robert De Niro" showed the world what a funny actor he can be as ex-CIA father in law Jack Byrnes in the Meet The Parents movies and "Ben Stiller" has never been better part from maybe in the film There's Something About Mary. This time we get to meet the children of the Fockers and dont't they say and do the most funny things at times. It's a bit of a shame that "Dustin Hoffman" didn't have a bigger role in this film because I find his character very funny but at least they made better use of "Barbra Streisand". This time Greg has to prove to Jack if he can handle being the next in line for the role of the Godfocker! Yes the circle of trust gets broken again when Mr Jack Byrnes is spying on Greg and thinks he is cheating on his daughter with a work colleague, whom trys getting very close with him. Did Jack get the wrong end of the stick again in what is a very funny part of the film. There are many funny moments but the first two films had me laughing out loud more but like me you will buy it just to complete the set in which it's still worth having.
Had really high expectations for this movie when it first came out, as it had Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson from the rather brilliant original, and also had the legend that is Dustin Hoffman for the ride this time.
But I just sat there in the cinema and didnt find it funny, I was barely able to muster up a laugh.
It just didn't work for me, maybe it was the straight laced tension of the first movie that made it so funny.
But part 2 with Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisland, the movie just got too silly for my liking.
It just didnt happen for me
sometimes 'rude' a little 'crude' and often 'funny'
the first in the series was probably the funniest of the three, however, the chemistry between 'de-niro' and 'stiller' was, humour at it's best, throughout this movie.
the little 'fockers' fitted into the plot nicely, twins, with arrangements for their 5th birthday party a-foot.
'greg' ( gaylord ) strikes up an unlikley friendship a pretty sales person ( played by 'jessica alba' ) giving 'jack byrnes' reason to be suspicous, which adds to the humour.
all in all, well worth a spin.
oh dear,oh dear. if there was ever an example to knowing when to stop, this film is a great way of showing what happens when you dont. this format is now a tired, groaning dinosaur, with a grand total of about 2 laughs in the whole movie.avoid.
