Tekken (Blu-ray)

You dont need to be a fan of the game to enjoy this, its a fast paced quality action movie full of cool fight scenes and great characters, the cast was great and all the fighters where done well, the story was good too, personally I thought as a game movie it was done very well and fans shouldnt complain it could have been allot worse, im a street fighter fan and the last movie they made about that was rubbish beyond belief, Tekken is twenty times better and watchable and is worthy of spending a night in for a bit of popcorn fun, check it out if you love a good fight movie!!!

This has to be the best cinematic adaptation of a beat-em-up game that I have seen. Although, its only contest is Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and DOA.
The acting is wooden at times, and the plot can be difficult for non-Tekken fans to appreciate. However, what really saves this movie is the fight scenes. They are well directed and well faught out. The fighting styles are exactly the same as the game characters and, watching them, you feel as though you are watching a live action version of the game.
Overall, it is watchable. But prepare to forget it shortly afterwards.

Post apocalyptic martial arts movie based on the successful video game franchise. The characters from the game are recognisable Some very nice costumes, amazing to see a few of the in-game characters, Raven looked amazing and the ladies outfits showed good muscle tone !

Overall I feel it just lacked on production value as the budget of $35 million must have gone somewhere, the entire film was shot at night or in dark buildings, after seeing low budget B-movie SKYLINE which cost $9 million you can forgive the actors being stuck in a LA condo and it made a large profit in the cinema excluding DVD/Bluray sales. Tekken however only took less than $1 million in U.S box-office sales and looks like a american TV movie!

If you like classic Van-Damme movies you'll enjoy this as it reminds me of KICKBOXER, funny coincidence because he starred in STREET FIGHTER with Kylie Minnogue in Raul Julia last performance. The funky techno humorous MORTAL KOMBAT directed by Paul Anderson is still marginally the best film based on a fighting Game, mainly the infusion of humour also if Cameron Diaz had not had an injury she would have launched her career as Sonja Blade . DOA was an Xbox exclusive so didn't have the gaming followers of the playstation on nintendo and Eric Roberts as the big boss bad guy is debatable.

I have seen this movie. The only reason I am writing this review, is because the score I saw is too high for what it actually is. I am surprised to see people give 3 and even 5 stars to this movie, when it clearly is just a taunt for every self respecting cinefil. You don't need to be a fan of the game to see how bad it is. You just need to know some things about movies.

The actors are unknown, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I was expecting that it would at least be a decent movie. However, The dialogues are crappy, the backgrounds are lower than bad and no one even tried to pay some attention to hide the fact that they were using plastic weapons. There is an axe towards the end of the movie that Jin steps on and its blade is shown to bend. That was the drop that made me go bersek.

In addition, some stupid VFX, those gloves that Jin was using that hardly resembled gloves and a story that is sickly retarded, give you the result that every decent viewer does NOT want to pay for. And for those that already are aware of the game's storyline, prepare to be GREATLY disappointed. If you ever gather on a protest against the production of this garbage movie, let me know.

And to reply to another mister who claims that the movie lacks the Mortal Kombat Humor, I have to say this:

OF COURSE it does. This is not Mortal Kombat, it's Tekken. At least it's supposed to be...

Do not get this movie. You will regret it, believe me. The Blu-Ray title may be dazzling, but I bet the scene with the bending axe hasn't changed. If you ignore this warning and go for it, remember what you read here after your certain disappointment.
