New Iberia, Louisiana. Detective Dave Robicheaux (Tommy Lee Jones) is on the hunt for a serial killer who preys on young women. Driving home from another gruesome crime scene, Dave meets glamorous Hollywood star Elrod Sykes (Peter Sarsgaard). Sykes is in town shooting his new movie, with backing from local crime kingpin Baby Feet Balboni (John Goodman). He tells Dave he saw a body lying in a swamp - the decomposed corpse of a black man in chains. The discovery brings memories hurtling out of Dave's past. He senses the two cases are linked. But as Dave gets closer to the murderer, the murderer gets closer to Dave and his family...

Borrowed this off a mate coz Tommy Lee Jones is in it.
And as good as he was, the movie didn't really work for me.
Found the story to be a little slow to get going, and didnt have much to say once it did.
If you wanna watch some Really Good Tommy Lee Jones movies, try -
- No Country For Old Men.
- In the Valley of Elah.
- The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada.

'tommy lee jones' rarely makes a poor movie, he has a kind of screen prescence which could be mis-interpreted by some, he's layed-back, and his portrayels are it seems effortless.
in my opinion in this movie he's on form, and gives a performance that we've come to expect from him.
he plays a cop who realizes when a body is found from 45 years ago, he actually witnessed the shooting.
not only is he on the trail of the killer from way back, a series of present day killings are some how linked to the earlier.
with some gritty scences, i think it's worth a viewing.

this film is so poor, the acting is like that of a B movie wooden and static,Tommy lee jones needs to hang up his acting boots if this is the only sort of film he's capable of.Best thing about the film is the box its in(at least it can be used for something else)
