Mrs. Jumbo, a veteran circus elephant, receives a baby from the stork. He soon becomes the laughing stock of the herd because of his jumbo-sized ears and is cruelly nicknamed "Dumbo". When Mrs. Jumbo loses her temper, she is locked up as a mad elephant and Dumbo finds himself all alone, except for a self-appointed mentor-protector, Timothy Q. Mouse.

After Dumbo and Timothy meet a group of crows, they convince Dumbo that he might be able to fly with a boost of confidence. With his "magic feather," Dumbo takes flight. When he loses his feather, Dumbo realises that he could fly by himself the entire time. After performing for the circus, Dumbo is a media sensation with Timothy as his manager and his mother by his side.

 EXCELLENT DISNEY TRANSFER

Top 10  Reviewer Top 10 DVD Reviewer

This is a superb transfer of this Disney classic the colours are sharp and very very colourful, The picture is clear, sharp and crisp and with the 7.1 DTS sound transfer the sound quality is amazing.
The set comes with the usual Disney Blu-Ray and DVD combo which is great value for money and the Blu-Ray disc as some excellent features that are not included with the DVD issue.
My only gripe with the Blu-Ray is that you can only view the film in 4:3 format which is annoying as you have black gaps at the side of your T.V there are 2 options for this you can have black bars or a Disney colour panel which helps slightly as it changes colour with the films backdrops.
The DVD release does not have this issue so bear this in mind as most Blu-Ray players upscale your DVD collection and you can save yourself a few quid in the process if the 4:3 format on the Blu-Ray disc will bother you.

Perfect Presentation Of A Movie Classic.

The Best Presentation Ever of this Disney Classic, Unlike the previous review, This Movie as with all movies made before 1955, when the wide screen process was introduced, so any movie made before 1955 was filmed in the standard ration full screen, as this movie was as it was made in 1941.
Any standard full screen ratio filmed movie, will always have balck bars either side of the presentation when the movie is transfered to bluray, this presents the movie in its original format and also allows the movie to be presented in the best possible presentation.
It is better to have a movie presented like this than to have it cropped for widscreen televisions, were information can be lost at the top and bottom of the screen.
Disney have introduced a great idea with all their classic movie bluray presentations, called Disney vie, which allows the movie to be shown with added on artwork at either sides of the movie, wich can add to films presentation.
So either way, this is the best presentation ever of theis classic movie wich now looks and sounds its best ever. Looking at the movie on this bluray, its hard to believe the movie is almost 70 years old.
10 out of 10 to Disney for preserving and presenting their movie classics in the best possible presentations, long may it continue.

 Disney's simple masterpiece

One of those films that you will never forget, whether you have kids or not. Along with the rest of the Disney animated classics of the late 1930s and early 40s, Dumbo is an everlasting example of Disney animation at the peak of its creative power, and although not as visually impressive as Bambi or Pinocchio, it still firmly holds its status as an all-time luminary of animated film. A classic with a message, about abnormality overcoming cruelty, this film deserves to be revisited again and again.

I cant believe it was 70 years ago this came out, disney have done a fantastic transfer, Ive compared the recent DVD and the colours on bluray look so much better. Kudos to disney as well for sorting out the ugly black side borders with gorgeous artwork, dumbo as well has this, I was so annoyed with wizard of oz (ugly black borders on sides) - Now this is BOGOF you have no excuse, buy this today with snow white or whatever takes your fancy !
