  bit of a snooze fest

Denzil is one of my favourite actors and I also admire gary oldman so I thought I would love this film but I was very underwhelmed. It is a very slow film with the odd random fight scene. I actually turned it off after an hour. The acting is good obviously from these great actors and the story is quite interesting but the pace annoyed me

  THE BOOK!

I love movies that revolve around religion, to me it feel's as if it give's more purpose. The story is set much like Mad Max ect., but the focal point is the bible. I highly reccomend this movie, whether you're religous or (like me) not.

  Great post-apocolyptic film

Summary: A post-apocalyptic tale, in which a lone man fights his way across America in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secrets to saving humankind.

The only Blu-Ray in my collection that I hadn't seen before I bought it. A few reasons to... Bargin price. Also, post-apocolyptic film films tend to be really good when done right, and this one hits all the right spots. Main reason... Denzil Washington and Gary Oldman in the same film? Two highly talanted actors that you can't go wrong with.

Picture quality is superb. As it's dark and gritty, so you can really feel the cinematography when you watch this one. Brilliant camera and lighting work. There's a lot more action then you would think with this type of film, and the fight scenes are seriously choreographed. You might secretly wish that we lived in that type of world after watching the film. People these days are greedy and take too much for granted. This film makes you learn the definition of "Appreciate". This film has a great twist at the end. It might possibly be talked about until the world ends. Much like with Pulp Fiction's "What's in the briefcase?"

  Amazing from start to finish!

The main thing that made me watch this film was the cast. The main three characters are all played by fantastic actors. Denzel washington is just awesome in every scene and plays his role superbly. Gary Oldman is fantastic and steels his scenes with ease. And then you have Mila Kunis (mmmmmmm), enough said!

The storyline is great, post apocolyptic america looks stunning and has a real feel about it. The whole secret behind the book thing was pure genius and very suprising.

I can honestly not say one bad thing about the film, and for this price on blue ray, its an absolute bargain!

  GREAT!!!

Denzel Washington preforms brilliantly as ELI, and Mila Kunis is good also, thr story is well told, perfectly paced, with good action sequences space throughout. the soundtrack is eerie and overall I enjoyed the two hours I spent watching it, it has been compared to THE ROAD but personally I found it far more enjoyable and interesting. The BLU-RAY transfer is excellent quality for both sound & visuals.... RECOMMENDED.

fallout meets the book of eli

Fantastic on the road movie. The lead character Eli played excently by Denzal Washington ( is there nothing this man cant do). And also a impressive display from Gary Oldman as the ruthless Warlord after a special kind of book that Eli possess. If you like the Game Fallout you will love this maybe sometimes hard to watch but other then that excellent highly recomended!

Wasnt look forward to another Apocalyptic film, having only just watched The Road, which was good, but hard work.
I should have known better,as this is a Beautiful Action Drama, that left me very impressed
I loved the central Story and the purpose behind it, refreshing to follow a story and for the reason to be worthwhile.
The film looks Gorgeous, with Excellent Cinematography, Art Direction and Sets. And a Eerie soundtrack.
The Hughes Brothers Directed at a nice steady pace with bursts of Operatic Action. Action that is Fresh and Exciting.
Performance wise Denzel was Brilliant in what was a quieter role for him.
It was good to see Gary Oldman after some time. And Mila Kunis was effective.
Loved the Johnny Cash name check and the scene towards the end when the book is placed between 2 other significant books.
Only downside was the TWIST they tried to chuck in at the end, they didnt work for me, but I enjoyed the movie very much nonetheless
