In the year 2019 the world is overrun with vampires. Humans are an endangered, second class species - hunted to the brink of extinction and then farmed to feed the vampires' thirst for blood. The remaining humans are in hiding and as blood supplies run low, the terrifying consequences of vampire starvation are becoming more apparent - the normally civilised vampire population will turn into feral blood sucking monsters if a blood substitute is not found. Stylish, provocative and action packed, Daybreakers stars Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill.

Sadly does not live up to it's amazing trailer.

The trailer for Daybreakers was one of the coolest that I have seen in recent years. It had a fantastic soundtrack, beautiful visuals and looked very slick. With stars like Ethan Hawke and Willem Dafoe delivering great lines it seemed very promising.
My wife and I could not wait to see the movie.
However the movie did not live up to the trailer, it was corny at times and also a bit disjointed in places. Only some parts were fairly good.
Overall it was a huge disappointment for us.
However I think that if you haven't seen the trailer then you might not feel so let down.
Despite my negative review I still might buy the Blu-ray to give it another chance.
Good Luck :-)

'a better than average 'bite' -flick.

in the not to distant future the world is dominated by vampires, humans are harvested for blood, however humans are fast becoming an endangered species.
'ethan hawke' plays a blood specialist who is trying to come up with an alternative supply of blood-like fluid to feed the vampires and preserve human life.
i've got to say this is one of the best 'vampire' movies i've seen for some time, not only does it contain the usual 'bite' attacks it also contains a story-line in which a former 'vampire' has found a cure to return vampires back to a human form.
when you see the likes of 'william defoe' and 'sam neill' among the cast list you know they havent signed-up for a 'bad-movie'
it's a good blu-ray presentation, along with some great special-effects.

This was a different twist on other Vampire movies. We thoroughly enjoyed it, a bit grusome in parts and made me jump. Soundtrack was fantastic very dynamic. Would recommend.

 "unseen edition" is a lie!

saw Daybreakers in the cinema and it was great, cool story etc. thought it would be good to see the "unseen edition" and it turns out to be the same as the one in the cinema. so if your looking for something new or extra forget it, save your money.

W@W What a film well recomended

The only thing wrong with the film it was not Long enough only 1 hour 38 mins, so good It went to fast, I did not know what I ordered at first as I was just looking for a few cheap films as sky is so pricey we get the cheap films instead, well I did not know how good this would be,
I nearly did not get it as the Vampire movie I thought had done its inning for me use to watch them all the time but this film was so far more Great hoping for the next but they are talking about a prequel which I have only ever found one that worked that was ,Hannibal Rising silance of the Lambs.
Anyhow we will see. Tony GO and Buy it.
