This is a Really well made movie, with a lot of attention to detail and some very inventive little effects. Visually it is very Good.
Story just didn't do it for me, the characters didn't engage me, especially Michael Cera, who seems to have the same acting style in every film.
Loads of people on Play.com love this as do others beyond Play.com.
So I think it's maybe something I just didn't get, or maybe it's not in my age range.
Anyway. probably worth finding out a bit about this movie beforehand before you buy it, to see if it appeals to you sensibilities.

Where to begin with the film ... Michael cera plays scott superbly !! This is definately a gamers film with all the little 'easter egg' sound clips from games like soninc and zelda , the fight scenes are awesome and the blu-ray version is definately worth a purchase an all round excellent film in my opinion !!

Breaking the trend with a 3 star rating.

I write this knowing that this view wont be well received but cant help feel disappointed with this film.
Heres the reason. I was expecting a film in the league of Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, seeing as the connection and judging by all the good reviews, but half way through the film, I was loosing interest.
The film is quirky, nostalgic and different , but its also a bit to silly rather than funny and maybe thats why it didn't appeal to me.Different yes but don't confuse different with brilliant

This is a really enjoyable and funny film. Michael Cera portrays Scott Pilgrim perfectly, each fight is awesome! Each of the evil ex's are great. Edgar Wright has made a hugely enjoyable film. Definately check this one out!
Also its packed with Special Features!
7/5 :)

This is one of the craziest movies of 2010 and one of the best, Edgar Wright is a great director and has made some funny films like hot fuzz and Shaun of the dead, but this is nothing like you have ever seen him do its a very loud and in your face kick ass story about a guy who loves a girl and has to fight her seven evil deadly ex boyfriends in order to date her, Scott pilgrim lives his life like a video game and gets better the more he proceeds with his life and the girl of his dreams! Its whacky and funny and so much fun its certainly a visual treat too, great cast too. Buy it if you want something a little more original than your usual comic book love story. The disc has tons of great extras too for your money.

One of the most charming movies around.

It's such a tragedy that the film was a flop at the box office failing to claw back the $60 million it cost to create. Hopefully its release on Blu-ray will help it find the audience it deserves, for this the most entertaining movie of 2010, due to its supurb soundtrack and great cast.

The Blu-ray transfer is quite brilliant, rich in colour and very clean and crisp throughout. The audio is even stronger thanks to a DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack that is quite simply amazing.

A fantastic film requires an excellent variety of extras and this Blu-ray doesn't disappoint. There's four commentaries, 30 minutes of deleted scenes, an in-depth making of, blogs, alternative edits and much much more.

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World is an outstanding film, buy it immediately and ensure that it gets the acclaim it actually deserves.

  My new favourite film

Aside the few big releases, like Toy story 3 and 'Inception,' this summer movie season passed by in relative obscurity. There just wasn't all that much great stuff to see, which was a disappointment. Even with the summer box office's slim pickings it's a travesty that more people didn't see Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Week after week Scott Pilgrim slid down the box office charts. It was disheartening to witness, because Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was hands down one of the best releases to come out!
Edgar Wright, writer and director of two of the most clever spoof films of all time (Shaun of the dead' and Hot Fuzz) set about making a motion picture based on the "Scott Pilgrim" comic books. Wright has a gift for satire, and Scott Pilgrim is full of some of the most clever, hilarious references you'll see. If you grew up playing Nintendo you'll love this movie.

This movie is so self-referential, so deeply embedded in its world that it never lets up. Wright goes full steam ahead, charging forward into an insane world where real-life is turned into a comic-book-style video game (complete with music from Zelda, and pixilated graphics). It actually reminds me of the neo-noir film Brick. That movie, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, decided that as weird as it sounded they were going to make a noir film about high school. Complete with kids talking in some sort of cryptic jive. Scott Pilgrim, like Brick is one of those movies that knows exactly what it is and stays true to itself the entire time.
Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) is a member of a band called the Sex Bob Ombs. This is how obscure these references get. Someone not familiar with the Mario Brothers franchise will miss such a subtle clue. Remember Bob-ombs? Those furious little bomb guys in Mario that tried to blow you to smithereens?
Scott has fallen head over heels for a new girl who's literally just skated into his life. Her name is Ramona (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and she's all Scott can think about. So much so that he can't do anything else with his life until he finds a way to date her. After meeting, and going out with Ramona, Scott soon finds out that he's going to have to do battle with each of Ramona's seven evil exes. Why? Just because. That's why.
Wright directs the film like a man who loves the source material. He uses just about every trick in the book, and even some new ones he's dreamed up. After Scott defeats an ex they explode into a shower of coins. The funny thing is that everyone in the movie seems only half surprised all this is happening. Scott is suddenly a martial arts master, and an ex he's battling has summoned hot daemon chicks who throw fireballs from their hands, and all anyone can do is stand there with their mouths open. You never know if people are surprised this is happening or if the world where Scott Pilgrim resides is just so completely insane anything is possible. I'm guessing it's the latter, and with Wright at the helm, the writing, direction, and acting make for one of the funniest and best movies of the year.
And now for the blu ray quality. The blu ray is, to me, fantastic. Colours are vibrant and really shine and there is no hint of grain on screen at any point throughout the film. The sound, as you may have guessed, is excellent. Everything is loud and clear. Fantastic extras too.

Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim embraces its insanity, revels in its absurdity and basks in its oddness. On sheer bravado alone Scott Pilgrim scores. You have to check this movie out!

It's heartfelt, hilarious and a highly satisfying adaptation of the book. You don't have to be a geek to adore it, you just have to remember being young.

This is honestly my favourite film ever and I have watched the blu ray 3 times since it arrived last week and I still want to watch it over and over. This is the first film I've seen that I feel truly understands and embraces geek culture, then uses it to create a high-energy movie that is awesome in every way. This film really does have everything.

Kitsch, odd but oh so very good

Rented it - loved it - now going to buy the Blu-ray for keeps. Brilliantly done for anyone who enjoys indie-style films but on a bigger budget. If you are a gamer and have been for over 10 years, this will have even more significance for you.
Michael Cera is a very enjoyable actor to watch and pulls this off perfectly - it was made for him.
Kieran Culkin is hilarious and new stars (for me anyway) Alison Pill and Mary Elizabeth Winstead really shine through.
If you love a bit of kitsch and odd - you will love this!!

if only there was a sixth star :(
