4 Stone Cold loses his memory... Kills a bunch of folks...DVDisgo | 05/08/2010 | See all DVDisgo's reviews (38)IT's not often that you get to praise a crossover star for his acting chops. The world of DTV Low-budget action is awash with ex-sportsmen, wrestlers and other muscled chancers, all trying to grab a slice of the post-pub home video pie but Steve Austin (The Expendables) bests most of them with a performance that, taken in context, stands head and shoulders above most of the wooden performances that passes for acting in these kind of flicks.Austin is a man with a shady, violent past he can't remember. There's a trail of destruction following the guy, in addition to government agencies and a kindly female doctor who wants to help him rebuild his identity. Basically, he knows bad things have happened but we only see shattered fragments of these events. With so many people after his skin, the film is essentially one big, exciting man hunt and Austin delivers in terms of murderous rage and violent acts,There are however, some mellower moments that allow him to add a little light and shade to the part. He's not in line for an Oscar anytime soon, but compared to some of his contempories, he handles these scenes well, which adds an extra layer to what is, in essence, a low budget Bourne meets CSI flick.Mix in some rather nasty torture scenes, a motorbike chase and a lot of fist fighting and you've got an entertaining little movie that shows the former Wrestling superstar could really crossover into more mainstream movies.
