  And where is the commentary?

| | See all Pixel71's reviews (10)

The film - four stars, maybe four and a half star.

The treatment of the UK market by the studio? Nil points.

Where are the special features other countries, even other retailers, are enjoying? Most specifically, where is Joss Whedon's commentary? The followers of his work are dedicated and loyal, and know how witty and entertaining and above all informative his commentaries always are, and that one was recorded, as it was announced weeks ago, and features on the American discs. So why, when bluray is touted as the definitive home experience of a movie, is it absent?

Sort it out, studio, now, because I'm not paying for inferior product.

A re-edited movie with barely any extras

A major screw up. Re editing of a pivotal scene which renders the whole impact of the film much less than it was. BBFC are investigating. The disc has been gutted of extras too, a missing commentary track along with a missing 90 minute doc are the two major culprets. Bad form Disney/Paramount.

  Uk Blu ray a joke.

Great movie but the Blu ray sucks.
Not only are a number of special features omitted from the UK blu ray release but a scene has also been edited.
Disney are obviously not content with the movie earning nearly 1.5 billion worldwide and clearly want to shaft the uk out of more money.
No harm to Play.com but I will be returning my blu ray and purchasing the uncut US version as I hear it's region free and includes all extras including directors commentary.

The culmination of great films in one super movie

This is the tie in movie. Since the end scenes of the hulk, iron man, Thor and captain America. My expectations were very high as it was the ultimate sequel to some seriously good marvel action films. I have to say I was blown away. Mark ruffalo and Robert Downey jr are two seriously great actors. It was hard to say who eventually stole the show. The action and plot are outstanding. This is an ensamble cast with no weak links
This is by far the best action film of the year. I can't be bothered writing more. It's all been said. I'd rather spend the time watching the film again.

  RIP OFF

Just found out that in the UK we aren't getting any of the special features, including the highly anticipated Director's Commentary. America is getting the lot.

Brits will have to fork out for a more expensive offering down the line. And we'll do it too, because we're gullible idiots and we like abuse.

  Just fantastic

When I heard this was coming, I wasnt really that interested. I loved the iron man and Thor films but didn't really have much interest in a joining together of the people.
However. On being dragged along I was totally blown away. Over two hours of non stop action. Genuinely. It doesn't stop.
All the characters are treated fairly. I got a little annoyed with the x men as it turned into the wolverine show. This doesn't. I felt every single one was given decent screen time, with the star of the show being the hulk. He has some very funny lines.
I don't remember the 3d effect being tremendous but it might be better on the home screen....or I'm going old and blind.
I would highly recommend watching this film. Not just comic fans or sci if fans. It is one of the film highlights of the last few years and well worth your money.
I would recommend watching Thor and captain America first though as it will genuinely help the story make total sense.

Eagerly awaiting this blu-ray the film is fantastic. Loved Robert Downey Jr and Mark Ruffalo.

Glad Joss Whedon finally has some recognition on how great a Director and Writer he is.

Recommend this fill to all.

Amazingly good movie - Hulk, smash...

Brilliant film, from its building start - to its huge finish, I couldn't turn away. It has loads of action, a really good story, and some really funny moments. The Hulk takes the best moments though - short and funny. Recommend you stay until the end - there are two bonus clips, not the normal Marvel one leading to the next movie - stay watching a bit longer.
