Fringe: Season 3 Box Set (4 Discs) (Blu-ray)

Comparing Lost to Fringe might put alot of people off this show considering how Lost ended, so if i was you, i'd disregard the last comment made on the previous review on here.
The only comparison is that there produced by the same guy (J.J Abrams- Star Trek(2009) - Super 8)
This is a great piece of Sci-fi telly in its own right ,and shouldnt be compred to anything else ,there is nothing out there that is like this show , completely original.
I just bought season 1&2 ,,absolutely worth every penny i spent ,,looking forward to season 3 on blu ray in september so i can get through them before season 4 starts on SKY1.

5 stars for the series however the bluray mastering is pants. What's the point of an HD format when the studio has crammed as many episodes as possible onto a disc so that the picture quality is effectively just a little better then DVD? It may have 1080 pixels but that's about it, detail is very poor even affecting skin tones, checking the data rate this drops in places to a little over 50% more than the DVD max, and yet has to support many more pixels. Thankfully the DTS soundtrack is at least better then DVD can achieve.

The series deserved much better treatment!

Now in it's fourth season in the US, the third season of Fringe is a fantastic ride of science fiction, action and shows just how far the show has evolved and come from it's first season when it was easy to view it as mostly a knock off of 'The X-Files' from years earlier. Which to an extent was the case..............but in it's three years Fringe has more than become it's own completely different show as well.

As the repercussions of season two's finale play out and greater threats and dangers loom, the very existence of more than one world hangs in the balance as the Fringe team encounters ever more bizarre events.

EVERYTHING that has been slowly built up over the preceding two seasons comes into play big time in this fantastic third season of Fringe, in ways that surprise and entertain in equal measure. All of the actors in the show are on form and convince perfectly with their performances. Especially Anna Torv and John Noble, but Joshua Jackson is also very good as his character becomes the most important piece of the entire Fringe puzzle by the finale.

Plus, the show looks fantastic - it's seriously one of the best shot shows of the moment with visual effects and production values that complement the solid stories of the series itself. The extras package is pretty standard for a Fringe season boxset, with various deleted scenes, behind the scenes, cast and crew commentaries and the like.

I can't wait to get into season 4!

I just got to start by saying I love Walter! It is a very creative and surprising believable series, season three is the best so far, definitely worth the money

After Lost ended, I was worried that nothing would be able to live up to it. Supernatural is great, but not as much as Lost. Even though Fringe is also not as good as Lost, it is the closest thing.

The first two seasons are amazing, but the third season is the best. It is so good, and so unpredictable too. With only four episodes left, this season is drawing to an epic conclusion, with the fourth season on it's way :D
