If you a massive fan of these movies like me then you wont be disappointed! This is a fantastic sequel and a great 4th movie in the series. The story is really good and carries on very well from the last three, the cast is great a few characters from past movie come back and Milla Jovovich of course is back as the wonderful Alice!! The effects are awesome this looks like the best budget yet for a resident evil movie!! There is allot of cool visual stuff going on and slow motion scenes and cool villains and the dogs are back!! Overall its a fun visual cool over the top shoot-em up horror action blast that is 100% pure entertainment for the money!!

I love the resident evil movies. And dont get me wrong this was a good movie. It was just lacking that certain umph it needed to be great. I have to say it... the resident evil movies have progressively got worse.

To be honest it was all a bit fumbled together with an outline of a story but nothing really sticking all that well. You could say it was scenes randomly put in. But you could also say it was cleverly put together to give the viewer an enhanced view of many different angles. I suppose thats for you to decide.

Another downer is that it seemed to lack action, it had some good fight scenes, but nothing was major hardcore action and full on. Yeh there were fight scenes but nothing that made me go WOW...

I have to say that last 30 seconds of the film i found to be the best bit...

Im going to give this a 4/5. Its still worth a watch, i did thoroughly enjoy it but im comparing it to the other films that were just... put it simply... Better. Apart from extinction.. Capiche?

  Lacking....

being a huge fan of the games and disliking the alice character from the first movie , i have to watch these movies not based on the game cause frankly you will not like them.
However this movie does tie in the 4th and 5th game zombies but they dont explain in the movie how they came to be that way they had them mixed with your typical zombie , the executioner makes an appearance but also explains no were how he became to be.Wesker is done to the 5th game which they stick too.
The Acting: the acting is below average from all cast ( excluding wesker ) some of the dialogue and scenes seemed too cheesy. wrong choice for chris big time.
Chris and Claire reunion is rather a big downside , it felt as if they never were brother and sister and they speak about 5 words to each other throughout the whole movie. Even tho Claire cant remember who Chris is , you still feel they should have a moment or something. The characters were not that exciting.
The story itself has lost its way , basically the whole movie is about alice and others trying to get to a place which the movie then tries to make a big twist out off.
The 3d i have to say was outstanding. AS for the "matrix style" action ( taking straight out of the matrix) felt for the first 15 minutes i was watching matrix but with different characters. The slow motion grew rather tiring there is only so many times you can through a gun in slow motion style.
While the movie holds a good decent action flick with superb 3d and good "matrix" style shots. However the story , acting and the characters let the movie down (apart from wesker)
Ps. wait 20 second after the credits meant to be a big shocker ( not)
which lets us know another one is due to be hitting are screens
oh joy -sighs-...

True to the franchise and fantastic alone.

This film not only blows you away with top notch 3D, it's also a well-crafted thriller, in the literal sense of the word.

The previous films were dotted with plot falls and fillers and while Afterlife sacrifices that typical, spooky atmosphere, the one it creates is far more entertaining. It's beautiful to look at, the score is excellent, and the acting is almost flawless, with only a touch of unneccesary dialogue. Saying that, imagine Terminator without 'I'll be back' - a bit of cheese never hurt anyone. My only criticism would be the over-use of slow motion sequences, but that's not nearly enough to knock off a star!

A crowd-pleasing advance in the series, Afterlife seems to act as the start of a refreshed 2nd trilogy.

Hi

I am a fan of horror/action movies like Resident Evil and 28 weeks later...i must admit that this newest Resident Evil was not as good as previous ones, but absolutely not boring! thats why i give it 4 stars and not 3. And after previous productions (of course) i was expecting like something "GOD-good", i mean too much :) well final words not the best one, but i will definitely buy the blue-ray version to my collection and watch it again.

  It does'nt feel like Horror

i enjoyed some of the visuals in this movie and the action is pretty good but some of the acting is'nt serious enough and in any encounters the fear just is'nt there.i loved the game's but i think they'd added all these things it does'nt feel like Horror it's more action and sci-fi.The special effects are great and its great for 3D
