Starring Martin Freeman, Ashley Jenson, Alan Carr and Mark Wootton comes the ultimate British feel-good Christmas film for the whole family.

This Christmas, primary school teacher Paul Maddens (Martin Freeman) is being charged with the biggest challenge of his life - mounting the school's musical version of the Nativity.

Competing against the posh local school for the honour of best reviewed show in town, the stakes are raised when Paul idly boasts that his ex-girlfriend Jennifer (Ashley Jenson), a Hollywood Producer, is coming to see his show with a view to turning it into a film. The only trouble is - they haven't spoken in years.

With eccentric assistant Mr. Poppy (Mark Wootton) fuelling his 'little white lie', Maddens suddenly finds himself a local celebrity and at the centre of quarrelling parents and over-excited children desperate in their bid for fame and fortune.

Now Maddens' only hope is to get back in touch with Jennifer and lure Hollywood to town so that everybody's Christmas wishes come true.

Nice ending but shocking movie. Very low budget.

I love Xmas, I love nearly every Xmas film. Even the bad ones are ok cos its Xmas and it makes you feel good.
But this is appalling. Frfeeman is good, as always. But noone else can act. The kids are the least talented bunch I think I've ever had the misfortune to see. It looks like they filmed it with the first school they came to. And they are not even cute. The story is non existant and very very sketchy and there are no laughs. BUT the ending is good. The nativity makes it just watchable. Awful film, not even good HD.

 great fun film

Wasn't expecting much from it tbh but was left really suprised by the whole film from start to finish, it is a laugh a minute.
It gets a little soppy in places, probably to make the americans happy (they love their mushiness).
Top notch performances all round and the little kids are brilliant especially the little, little one who wants to be a king.

Brilliant, loved it!

I wasn't sure about this film. I am so glad I took the chance and tried it :) It's so funny, and quick paced, it keeps you hooked from start to finish!

Even more amazing is, when you read about it more, Debbis Issit (the writer and director) doesn't use scripts. So the whole thing is blocked, but no scripts, so it's improvised from start to finish.

Basic story - Mr Maddens (Martin Freeman - The Office) is a primary school teacher, who is still getting over the split from his girlfriend, Jennifer (Ashley Jensen - Extra's), who he'd met at drama school. He is assigned a new teaching assistant Mr Poppy (Mark Wooten - many will remember him as the smarmy estate agent in Gavin & Stacey) - Mr Maddens is told he is doing the annual nativity play for the school, and while being would up by a rival teacher, he braggs that Jennifer and Hollywood is coming to see his school's nativity play.

The small lie is overhear by Mr Poppy, who then tells the whole school!

The rest, you will need to watch the film to find out. But it's funny, and heart warming all at once. You will not be dissapointed if you watch this, there is something here for the whole family. Not just for Christmas!

This was one of those films I took my kids to see cause we'd seen everything else last year.
Had a real surprise because it was fantastic entertainment from a mainly British cast including some mega talented kids
The story is beleivable and real good entertainment
Buy this and I guarantee you will not be disappointed

 Great 'LOW BUDGET' film

Really don't think the previous reviewer understood this film at all, the kids in the film ARENT actors, that's the appeal, it was filmed off the cuff with genuine school children, that's the 'Christmas Magic' in this film. I really thought that was obvious, maybe not!
