Very good squeal to a legendary film

The film has to tread a fine line between those who have seen the first film, which is over 20 years old, and those who have not. The iconic images of the first film, are there, brought up to date with stunning clarity.

The films storyline is one which is easy to follow, fits in well with the story of the first movie, and we found very entertaining!

It is a film which I feel you will either love it or hate it, there no in between.
Give this movie a chance, go watch it.....

 Simply Awful!

I have to totally agree with evildave because he is spot on apart from the two stars?? I thought you was giving it one? This was easily the worst film I saw last year, and that was saying something because I didn't think anything could be worse than that Predators tripe! But no, this is on that same epic low. The visuals are absoloutely stunning. The acting is simply laughable. The script could have been written by a student at film college. The film is just too long and nothing ever really happens in it. Absoloutely boring film once you have got past the stunning visual look you are then looking for more, you are waiting for the film to get started and it never EVER does! The best thing about this film is the soundtrack by Daft Punk which is absolutely breathtaking! I have bought the soundtrack but will not be buying the film. Pants!

 totally surprised

I bought this because i loved the 1st film and had high hopes for this one after seeing amazing trailers and waiting yrs for it, i never listen to reviews much because everyones tastes r different. All i can say about this film now i seen it is its AMAZING, i was expecting some boring or rubbish bits but there was none. I was hooked the whole way through the film, yeah there some cheese in there but its fine because its kinda carrying on the 80's vibe. For me what drove the film and had me hooked was the incredibly strong visuals and sound.Daft punk's score is incredible and perfect for this film, it just blends and works without a hitch at all the whole way through. Speaking of sound the DTS:MA 7.1 is a masterpiece and a real showcase, its booming, deep and drags u right into the film simply beautiful. To sum this film up its a great sequel, with perfect audio and visuals to compliment the whole experience i could watch again and again

This was the last movie I saw in the cinema in December 2010 and it was certainly one of the most exciting movies of the year!! For starters it was certainly the most visually cool looking film by a long shot, fantastic effects that really got you pulled into the whole tron universe and made it believable!! The soundtrack too by Daft Punk was awesome!! A very powerful score that really sits well along side the amazing effects. The story for me was very good too and was really the only way to carry on from the fantastic and classic original movie! The cast was very good Jeff Bridges was on form and did really well resurrecting his character Flynn, and Olivia Wilde is very sexy, This is a MUST buy on Blu-ray for any true fan of the original and anyone else who wants to see something cool and original looking, kids also will certainly get into it, theres plenty of action with the light cycle chases etc. Make sure you dont miss this one....

As a kid I loved the original, as I was wowed by the then groundbreaking special effects, but after seeing it recently again I saw the movie shortcoming..... no plot!
It greaves me to say that twent eight years later this sequel suffers from the same fault and nobody has learned from their mistakes from the original 1982 movie.
At the start of the movie I was dazzled by the effects where for the first forty minutes you are bombarded by light bikes chases, light disc fights and the entire vision of the computer world in all it's 3D glory...... then nothing at all happens for the rest of the film, terrible plot, not attempt to draw out the characters just loads of flashy visuals. the frustration is an understatement. then in the final quater of the film the strory attempts to make sence of all what was going on and it just becomes laughable.
The whole experience is a crushing disappointment as only goes to prove that effects don't make a film, as this movie is even more shallow and under written than anything you could buy for the PS3 or XBOX 360.
Of course it will have fans just because of the cult status of the original, and no doubt will damn my review and others who say a word wrong about it, but strip away the 3D and all your left with is a unplayable trailer for a very camp computer game.
This is a one star film, but it also is even more frustating because the visuals are so good.
If you loved the original than I suggest you see it, but if your just a casual viewer I suggest you watch the first Matix movie or Inception instead.
