The Expendables (Blu-ray)

Lets be honest, from a cast like this, we were'nt expecting a sophisticated story line with indepth character building... Yes its just 2 hours of guns, explosions, blood, fighting, more guns, more explosions, even more guns! If you just sit down and dont expect anything serious this is a bloody good film!!! And Stone Cold Steve Austin is there aswell!

enjoyed the film but would not play on my Sony bdp-s350 player , a common problem reviews all over the internet

I only bought this because i saw the trailer for the expendables 2 at the cinema and though that the sequel looked amazing,so it goes without saying i had to buy this before going to see number 2. Its a good film but not brilliant. The cast is actually better than the film itself,people rave about arnold schwarzenegger being in it but dont get too excited its for all of 60 seconds although stallones line as arnie leaves is great and pokes fun at arnies real life. Its a shame the scene with arnie,stallone and bruce willis was so short,willis could have been great in this.(and was for the short time he was in it) If you like action,gun fights and explosions then this is the film for you. Terry crews with his AA-12 shotgun is unstoppable and does some serious damage,statham is lethal with a throwing knife and the rest put on some great fight scenes. Its the same as any other movie really where a few people can take on army after army and win,all their bullets hit and the thousands fired at them miss but then again most movies are far fetched in that respect,stallone and statham have a great relationship in this film,definitely worth a watch!

bring it on 80s action movies are the best and this just proves it,part 2 on its way.looking forward to stallones new movie that has just finished filming"bullet to the head" yeeeagh haaaaa

I am all for big-action movies a bit thin on plot, sometimes its exactly what you are after. Really though this film lacked even a hint of originality and the millions spent on special effects simply couldn't make up for the terrible acting and by-the-number dialogue.

The film is very very good! Sly, Arnie, Statham, Li and the rest of the cast are really great. Recommended for every action fan of the '80's and '90's. Can't wait for the second movie next year!!

The film is very very good for what it's trying to be, and not much more needs to be said about it.
I just feel the picture quality isn't up to scratch with other Blu-rays I have (Zombieland, Wonders of the Solar System[1080i!] and Toy Story 3)

Maybe it's because there is supposed to be some film grain, and because most of the scenes are quite dark and my TV isn't LED but overall the picture quality wasn't what I was expecting. Though the sound quality is spectacular, and it is still light years ahead of the DVD and most HD downloads you will be able to purchase. Maybe I just expect too much from Blu-rays sometimes.

A major step back in time to good over the top action flicks with a dash of cheesy dialogue. And what better than to have the greatest names in action movies all packed into one!!

If your looking for an action film, the kind which does not bend the laws of physics (The Transporter) or give you in depth story lines (mission impossible) you should buy this film. The visuals are great, and the acting is decent considering who they are. A great film for a saturday night with a few beers and a few friends

My god. I watched this last night and it blew me away. I'm a MASSIVE fan of all them great action films of the 80's and 90's and loved every second of this over the top film.

The only people missing from this was Chuck n Steve............. If you take films to seriously then don't bother. If you watch a film and keep saying to others trying to watch it "That wouldn't happen in real life!" then don't bother.

This is as close as we will get to films like Commando and Rambo so enjoy the fun..................!!!
