This film is a good interpretation of the book. while it is a bit expositon heavy for non-fans to fully appreciate it has a brilliant first and final act. its a welcome change from the Hogwarts environment. However, a few pieces of important infomation could have been added easily to help the average moviegoer understand the mamouth and intricate plot. This is the character film before the final showdown. When watched with part two this will be a five hour fantasy epic and i cant wait!:D

A good film, but I found that the back ground was a little to dark.
also, I do not know if any other viewers have found that, as i have, that my blue ray copy, the speech, and charicter actions slip out of syncronisation after about fifteen minutes into the film, and progressivly gets more out of sync, as the film progresses!

this harry potter was amazing the first time, second ok, third time booring. a great harry potter but not enough action, but thats mostly due to they are trying to make a massive lead up to part 2, i mean have you seen the trailer!!! anyway theirs no point buying it beacause soon it will be all over and then you can buy both parts on blu ray which would would be soo much better or buy the complete boxset with all 8 disks!

The darkest one yet which ends on a great cliffhanger!

Harry, Ron and Hermione are running out of time in which they must find a way to destroy Lord Voldemort's power before he becomes unbeatable. The three of them are unsure what to do or who they can trust as the evil dark forces take their grip on the world. They travel for many days and run into trouble on their great adventure and along the way friends will be killed. The Deathly Hallows is a very bleak Harry Potter film in which our friends fall out and all hope is nearly lost. Both sides find new weapons in which to fight eachother with and the final chapter will be a epic battle which could even rival the mighty Lord Of The Rings!

To be honest, i never used to be a fan of Harry Potter. When the first film came out, i was dragged to go see it. I've not read the books, just watched the films. I have to say, as the films have gone on, i've loved them. I think the first 2 i can take or leave but when Prisoner of Azkaban came out and things started getting darker. Thats when my interest peaked. Goblet of Fire is still one of my favourites.
Now having not read the books i don't know what stuff gets left out or what. I just take the films for what they are. But looking at the size of The Deathly Hallows book, i think splitting it into 2 films is a very smart move.
The Deathly Hallows Part 1 is a really good film. One of the things i love is how it's out of hogwarts now. The main cast are better to watch now they are older. This is another dark edition to the series. You compare this to the first, they are like totally different films. The blu-ray picture is great. The ending leaves you wanting more. What this film does is really set everything up for the explosive final battle. Even though theres a lot going on in this film, Part 2 will most likely blow this one away. Bring on july.

Having just watched this on Blu Ray I gotta say I thought it was an excellent film - the series has grown up with its viewers and I had no issues with it being too dark to see at all, the world they are in seems more devoid of the happiness in the earlier films so I think the producers have tried to show this with the tones and colours used, a lot of familiar places and faces look visibly older and worn as they prepare for the final showdown.....
I personally felt the story progressed at a decent pace and I am definately looking forward to the next instalment, I would say worth a watch/rent if not a fan and if you are a fan just buy it, its good and Blu Ray and 5.1 sound quality are excellent.

I went to see this film at the cinema and thought it was fantastic, the best Harry Potter film so far. However this edition isn't the same as the one I watched at the cinema. They have deleted and shortened scenes that add imensely to the storytine. And then they haven't even put half of these in the 'additional scenes extra on the special features. An example being where Miss Granger is being tortured by Belatrix at Malfoys Manor, and at the beginning with the muggle studies professor being tortured. This put a whole damper on the film for me as i was expecting to see what i saw at the cinema.
Probably just yet another way to get money out of fans by later releasing an extened edition.
Good film, just dissapointing on the missed parts.
