A demented surgeon will wield any instrument to perform the unspeakable. No conscience, no mercy and no hope!

Two pretty American girls on a road trip across Europe end up alone in the woods at night when their car breaks down in rural Germany. As they search for help they find an isolated house. Offering to call them a taxi, the house's owner Dr. Heiter, a retired surgeon, invites the girls inside with the promise of a drink and dry place to wait until help arrives. However they realise that there is something not quite right about the formidable Dr. Heiter...

As their demented host explains his twisted vision, the two girls discover that they are soon to become a lot closer to each other than they ever wanted to be. Heiter's plan is to connect the two girls to each other with a third person, a hapless Japanese tourist, via their gastric systems in a daring bid to be the first person to create a Siamese triplet -bringing to life his sick lifetime fantasy 'the human centipede'.

Truly one-of-a-kind, Tom Six's twisted biological horror film The Human Centipede confidently goes where few films have dared to go. The sick vision of a demented surgeon, a role portrayed so brilliantly by Dieter Laser it is sure to join Freddy, Jason, and Leatherface in the horror pantheon, is a 100% medically accurate nightmare.

 'Intelligent horror' and ORIGINAL!

| | See all GingerRogers's reviews (3)

Unfortunately this film's bad reputation precedes it - However, it isn't a badly made, gore fest. Tom Six has made an intelligent film where you don't actually SEE anything 'bad' - The actual centipede stuff is very tame in comparison to film like 'Martyr's (which a a wonderful modern horror). All the horror is inferred (unlike A Serbian Film, which I'm amazed has been released considering it;s content), fear being a prevelant part of the suspense.
It's not a long film and the story is linear leaving the ending open for part 2 of the trilogy. You could analyse a film like this to death, & look for a mulitude of hidden meanings, so what I will say is, it's not violent or gory, it is 'squirmy' and it does make you think, and reminded me a bit of Gasper Noe's style of movie making, it's not as 'Instant' as 'Nightmare on Elms Street' - and its ORIGINAL. Its not a remake of a 1980's horror. A group of us watched it, and really loved it, to the point where my brother has a human centipede tattoo (and was just in Total Film with it). If you like you're horror with a bit more thought, you won't be disappointed in this film! A true Original that's an instant cult classic!

This has to be the most original and most sick film of the year for horror fans!! It truly must be seen to be believed, a perverse and twisted story about a mad German scientist who performs secret experiments in his home, one rainy night some hot American girls get lost and find their way to his house to spend the night in the most shocking way ever!! The film dosnt run on gore but there are lots of cringe worthy moments, it all builds up to the climax which is gross beyond belief and leaves images in your head that wont come out, certainly a film that will get talked about!! If you love a good original film then dont miss out on this!

Don't listen to the scare mongers

A lot of people will be completely put off seeing this film by the trailer. But to those who feel they can't handle it, be strong. The film is a brilliant piece of work by Tom Six (who I had the pleasure of meeting at the London premiere). He never tries to make it an over the top gore fest, ok there is one scene in the garden that is pretty hardcore but overall it's really more the performance of Dieter Laser (Dr. Heiter) that creates the tension and scares. I've seen this film 3 times now and have enjoyed it every time. Bring on the Blu-Ray!

 pretty disappointing

ok... so i bought this movie after reading a couple of reviews in the hope that it would be 'the best horror movie this year'. sadly i didnt think so
possibly one of the worst movies ive ever seen... it says on the case that it was thought up after a conversation of what convicted peadophiles should be put through which would of been a great storyline... but no it was the same old tourists that get it.

12 quid down the plughole unfortunately. could of been a lot better.

 2 hours of whimpering

the whole idea is silly. the acting poor and the story line backs this up. if u want to listen to 2 hours of 2 young girls whimpering with the occasional swearing from a Chinese man!
