A Tale of Love and Revenge... and Stamps.

Moist von Lipwig is a con artist of the highest degree: polite, charming, and skillful in his work. Nevertheless, as the story begins he is confined to a cell in Ankh Morpork and scheduled to die within half an hour after having stolen AM$150,000. He is saved when Lord Vetinari offers him a choice: he can walk out of the door (and fall to his death), or he can become Postmaster of the city's run down Post Office. Lipwig chooses the latter, hoping for a chance to escape. Unfortunately for him, Lipwig's first and last attempt at escape is thwarted by a golem named Mr Pump, who delivers Lipwig back to the office of the Patrician...

As a fan of the books I have awaited the discworld novels making it to the screen. I have not been disapointed. This is the third book sky has brought to the screen and they keep getting better. A must have for the blu-ray collection.

 Could have been better...

After watching Terry Pratchett's Colour Of Magic I was hoping Going Postal would be just as fun and exciting. This movie dont quite deliver im afraid...

That said I have not read any of Terry Pratchett's books and may miss out on alot of stuff readers wil reconise and laugh at.

A great adaptation of a fantastic novel.

Top 100 PC Reviewer

Based on one of the latest Discworld books, GOING POSTAL is the story of how a conman, Moist Von Lipwig, is persuaded to take over Ankh-Morporks failing Post Office by Lord Vetinari, the citys ruler.

This is a very good adaptation, my favourite of all the SKY 1 Discworld films so far, and has a top rate cast. Charles Dance is brilliant as Lord Vetinari, Richard Coyle is extremely charismatic as Moist Von Lipwig, and Claire Foys Adora Belle Dearheart is both cold and beautiful in equal measure. David Suchet makes a good villain, and lots of the humour from the original book has successfully transferred to the screen.

GOING POSTAL is by far the most visually stunning of the three SKY 1 Discworld movies, and with a running time of three hours, will keep all fans and Discworld newbies suitably entertained. Highly recommended.
