This was a very good interpretation of some events in the time of the bubonic plague. Stepping away from the actual Black Death a bit a focusing on the sects and cults.. in this example paganism.

A very enjoyable dark film. Giving a good insite.

Some great gory scenes, and things to make you cringe. Its certainly not the best film out there. But its still definately worth a watch.

Im going to give this 3/5 more towards 3.5/5

For me director Christopher Smith can do no wrong, this is the 4th main feature he has made after the brilliant Creep, Severance and Triangle. Black Death is a little different from past movies but still has a great story, a good cast and some great gory moments that his movies are good for! If your a fan of the above films and enjoy his work then be sure to check this out. The picture quality of the bluray is good, but the features are slightly lacking, but has a good commentary.

 Actually...rather good!

Set in the Dark Ages of the 12th Century this is a well acted, gritty & often gory tale & deserves your attention. It creates a mood & atmosphere that will stay with you, long after the credits have rolled. I went into this with no expectations & was immediately drawn in to the story & characters. Don't be put off by negative reviews. Blu-ray PQ whilst not perfect is still very good - great sound too - Recommended.

 'DARK'

the tale is set in the mid 14th century when the 'black death' plagued the land.
it tells of a young 'monk' ( with a secret motive ) volunteering to lead a 'knight' and his group of mercenaries through the swamps to a remote village that has escaped the plague and where rumours of accult practices are rife in this land of superstition.
it's a good watch with some scenes of graphic violence throughout this 'dark' tale.

 Soooooooooo bad

If I could give this film half a star I would it is that bad. Reminds me of wicker man the nic cage version which was a load of tripe also! STAY AWAY FROM THIS RUBBISH
