Well i took my time to watch this after the first one. And i must say the first one was absolutely superb. Watched it at the cinema and brill!!

But this one. hmmm i have to say i didnt enjoy it as much as the first. But it still turned out to be pretty good. it seemed to lack the thrill and excitement and edge of seat drama of the first one.

But like i say, still pretty good 89 minutes of a film, with some good fight scenes and some gory scenes. its worth a watch if your a fan of the first. But just dont get your hopes up ey..

horror sequels are rarely any good but this is dreadful. the cast, acting, effects, direction, production and story are laughable. this is on my "never again" list of films. no wonder they couldnt get melissa george, it would have been career suicide to do this movie!

Not a patch on the original

Watched the original again on Blu-ray before settling down to watch this sequal; I wish I hadn't as this is not a patch on the first film. There are no "30 Days Of Night" and other gaping plot gaps. Without giving plot away Stella uses an anti-vampire device in the opening scenes that was deployed as a weapon in the first film. For the rest of the film I'm waiting for it to be used on the offensive; it isn't. Also spent the film shouting "get on with it" thinking they were making there way back to the snow and 30 days of night, it doesn't happen. To be honest the film felt more like "yet another" Blade film with none of the originality of the first film which is still one of the best Vampire films I've even seen and still more scary after several viewings than this followup. Two stars as a couple of jumpy moments, mostly due to the sound effects that unfortunately drowned out the dialogue in places.

This is a great sequel very true to the graphic novel and the original film right from the very beginning! The story is great with Stella the survivor from the last movie helping a group of other survivors find the vampire queen Lilith so they can kill her! The actress playing Stella has changed to Kiele Sanchez (a perfect getaway) as she was played by Melissa George in the original, but Kiele does a great job and slips straight into the role! The rest of the cast is great too, the vampire effects are just as cool as the original and theres plenty of blood thirsty action and in your face gore to please us gorehounds!! Mia Kirshner plays Lilith the vampire queen and she is very sexy and super evil. Overall it compliments the original very well and is a worthy sequel, the ending has a very interesting twist too which leaves it for the next instalment! If your into vampire or horror in general check it out.
