Part man. Part machine. All cop. The future of law enforcement.

Robocop (Dir. Paul Verhoeven, 1987): He's RoboCop. And in the near future, he's law enforcement's only hope. A sadistic crime wave is sweeping across America. In Old Detroit, the situation is so bad a private corporation, Security Concepts, Inc., has assumed control of the police force. The executives at the company think they have the answer - until the enforcement droid they create kills one of their own. Then an ambitious young executive seizes the opportunity. He and his research team create a law enforcement cyborg from the body of a slain officer. All goes well at first. Robocop stops every sleazeball he encounters with deadly, piercing, and sometimes gruesome accuracy. But there are forces on the street, and within Security Concepts itself, that will stop at nothing to see this super cyborg violently eliminated. Prepare yourself for non-stop action and adventure in one of the most explosive sci-fi stories you'll ever witness: Robocop.

Robocop 2 (Dir. Irvin Kerschner, 1990): The sizzling sequel to 1987's sci-fi blockbuster brings back "The Future of Law Enforcement," RoboCop, to face his greatest challenge ever! Peter Weller returns as the half man/half machine police officer, this time to rid the lawless streets of Detroit of the deadly new designer drug "Nuke." Unknown to RoboCop, the evil corporate empire which created him wants to take the city "private," and develop RoboCop 2, a newer, bigger and more powerful version to replace the original. The script was - in part - written by comic-book genius, Frank Miller (Ronin, The Dark Knight Returns).

Robocop 3 (Dir. Fred Dekker, 1993): Omni Consumer Products (OCP), the conglomerate that designed RoboCop now owns Detroit. The company plans to demolish one of the city's largest neighborhoods to build a gleaming city of the future-after an army of ruthless mercenaries finishes throwing everyone out of their homes. But RoboCop, sworn to protect the public, joins forces with a band of urban freedom fighters battling to save their neighborhood. After battling a lethally efficient ninja android, and equipped with a new arsenal of hi-tech weaponry, RoboCop and the courageous residents take on OCP's private army. It's all-out war, an explosive street fight that could destroy either the entire city or the evil powers behind the brutal corporate raid.

 The Trilogy release

This is what I would call an awful release. Included are the basic three films, and I mean BASIC. No extras unless you include a trailer as an interesting extra, this is including the first film which I would've thought they would've included the extras from the DVD release.

There is nothing new in the transfer at all, still grainy and a little soft.

I'd hold out till they've released a definitive version of this onto Blu Ray that's if they do. So don't expect much from this release.

 Classic First Movie. Awful Sequels.

The Robocop trilogy is a mixed bag. The first movie is a true sci-fi classic but the two sequels are both very poor. Unfortunately the poor quality of the sequels spoil the trilogy the first movie deserved.

Robocop (1987) directed by Paul Verhoeven (Total Recall) is a classic movie. Its brutal and exciting with a great performance by Peter Weller. Verhoeven superbly mixes the violent action with pretty intelligent sci-fi.

The sequel Robocop 2 (1990) was directed by Irvin Kershner (Empire Strikes Back) and written by Frank Miller (Sin City) so it should have been a good movie. Unfortunately its just a mess. The action looks cheap and the story is pretty silly. Peter Weller phones in his performance.

Robocop 3 (1993) was directed by Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad) and saw Robert John Burke replace Weller in the lead role. Amazingly it had the biggest budget of the trilogy but it looks very cheap and nasty. Sadly by this time the whole Robocop franchise looked very tired and the least said about the short lived TV series the better.

Verhoeven's Robocop is a true sci-fi masterpiece its just a shame the sequels failed to deliver.

Very basic set with the movies and not much extras. The picture could be a touch clearer.

 Think it over creep.

Ok,i am one of the biggest fans of Robocop,i grew up watching the movies, had the toys and squeezeed my brothers throat until he said i was a cop.
This boxset is very disappointing,no extras,Robocop 3 looks the best out of the three, infact it looks really good.
Robocop 1 is the same disc as the first blu-ray release,it even has the same disc sticker which makes it stick out from the other two.
Robocop 2,i had problems with this, when cain fires his weapon the screen flickers everytime, its not my hardware as all my Blu-rays work fine even with the newest update installed to my player, the transfer looks ok but nothing special.
Think long and hard before buying this as its not as good as it should have been.

Superb and legendary classic first film. The sequels are a complete disgrace. Robocop 3 is particularly awful.
