Baz Luhrmann's dazzling and unconventional adaptation of William Shakespeare's classic love story is spellbinding. Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes portray Romeo and Juliet, the youthful star-crossed lovers of the past. But the setting has been moved from its Elizabethan origins to the futuristic urban backdrop of Verona beach.

This brilliant and contemporary retelling of the world's most tragic love affair makes this wildly inventive Romeo & Juliet unforgettable.

This Version of the classic Shakespeare story is like a firecracker
exploding in your face. It oozes a certain arrogance and energy that is not
normally associated with "The Most Romantic Story ever told"
Just watched this again after 13 years on DVD., and it still easily holds up.
The acting was top notch, showing Di Caprio's potential before he became a Superstar.
I didn't understand a lot of the Shakepearean language,
But that did not matter as it was all very obvious, and this was very much a Visual Spectacle.
Also the Soundtrack was Spot on, especially the track "Kissing You" by Des're.

 Great blu-ray

The picture and audio are great on this film, from the opening scene at the petrol station, the vibrant colours really stand out and it has a really good dts hd master audio track to go along with it.
