The Version We Always Were Supposed to See!

Before it's release, I followed the production of 'Avatar' as closely as humanly possible (considering, it was a difficult production to follow due to all the secrecy and protection over the film).

I read about anything and everything I could get my hands on. As an avid fan of James Cameron, and ready to see something new and extraordinary, I couldn't wait for the release of the film.

Now, as blown away as I was by the film, one thing got to me -- where was the Earth scenes. They looked so awesome.

So, yes, I thrived, like most in the release of Avatar, seeing it countless times in the cinema, from 2D, to 3D, to IMAX 3D. I couldn't get enough of it. Yes, the plot has been done before, but not in the same style...clearly!

So yeah, then I bought the bare-bones Blu-Ray release. I got enough entertainment out of that before the Special Edition hit cinemas. In I go, awaiting to see those awesome Earth scenes -- again, no Earth scenes.

I was worried, that we were never gonna see these Earth scenes. And then, finally, we learn of the Extended Collector's Edition Blu-Ray. Which includes 3 Versions of the film. And on that third, ultimate cut, we have the Earth scenes.

This is the version we were always supposed to see!

The ultimate cut, with all the footage that Cameron deems necessary to be in the film.

So yeah, the film is awesome, the Special Edition was slightly even more awesome. And the ultimate cut, should be incredible!

There's enough Extras here too to keep you going for a whole bunch of hours.

So, get your Pre-Orders down, and buy this film! Now! And thrive in it...until you invest in a 3D-TV and the 3D version of the film arrives!

This movie was certainly worth every piece of hype, it must be one of the most visually stunning films ever made, a film for all ages to love and enjoy! It looks first class on bluray with a stunning clean pixel perfect quality that all films should have! Certainly worth getting this version as its the best version you could possibly own! A fantastic film directed by the great James Cameron who brought us other cult classic movies like Aliens and the Terminator, but hes really outdone himself now with Avatar, a truly remarkable piece of work. A must buy film on bluray.

 Good effects but

Unless you are a complete tree hugger this movie is utter rubbish.

The whole movie is about saving the reinforest, eh sorry, tree and it's inhabitants.
There is no depth to the story line and the acting is below par for people like Sigourney Weaver.
It would seem that all the people who enjoyed the movie forgot what movies are about and enjoyed the simplicity of lanky blue people and 3D technology...

 I see you....

When the eyes see all thay should see, they will see the deep and meaningful plot that makes this film one of the best ever made.
Those that dislike it are stuck in the real world refusing to allow themselves to be immersed in the beauty of fiction. It's unfortunate, but that's your choice. Poor you.
Wander through the gardens of light at night with Neytiri and Jake Sully and learn all there is to know about how the human race is so very clever at destroying all that is beautiful in the name of profit, then stop and check yourself out.
Tugging at the heart strings at the same time as being inspirational, almost aspirational, this is a remarkably well made film. The added footage in this version completes the film putting back in some important chapters.
Roll on Avatar 2 and 3 which will be shot back to back and released winter 2013 and 2014 respectively, lets all go back to Pandora.
Who doesn't secretly want to be in an Avatar's body, just for a few hours?
