True Legend sees the return to the director's chair after 14 years of the actor and the legendary choreographer behind the brilliant action sequences of Kill Bill Vols. 1 & 2, The Matrix series and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Yuen Woo Ping.

The film follows the life of martial arts legend Beggar Su (Vincent Zhao: Once Upon a Time in China series), beginning as his half brother Yuan Lie turns against him and his family, killing his father and taking his son prisoner. Being unable to beat his enemy and his unstoppable '5 Venom Fist' style sends Su into a great depression, and he turns to drink, living with his wife (Xun Zhou) in exile. Gradually, his passion for martial arts and his desire for revenge return, and he goes into training with the possibly imaginary God of Wushu (Jay Chou), honing his 'Drunken Fist' skills and preparing for the coming battle.

This martial arts action epic also stars the Bafta nominee Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and the late David Carradine (Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2).

Great fighting scenes in the movie, but there is a major rhythm problem in the last part, where the story is a bit boring.

What a let down. Not for true martial arts fans

Bought this after reading good reviews however it was very disappointing. I grew up watching Martians films. I think Ip Man is an eXcellent film however this cannot go anywhere near it. The plot is rubbish and the film doesn't make it clear as to how he learns the drunken style, it just happens. Weird.
