From The Hangover director Todd Phillips, Due Date throws two unlikely companions together on a road trip that turns out to be as life-changing as it is outrageous. Expectant first-time father Peter Highman (Robert Downey Jr.) looks forward to his new child's due date five days away. As Peter hurries to catch a flight home from Atlanta to be at his wife's side for the birth, his best intentions go completely awry when an encounter with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis) forces Peter to hitch a ride with Ethan on a cross-country trip that will ultimately destroy several cars, many friendships and Peter's last nerve.

  • Complete "Two and a Half Men" Scene Featuring Ethan Tremblay

Went into this movie on the back of some scathing reviews in the press.
Worst film of 2010 they shouted. They seemed to be disgusted with Downey Jnr punching the kid!!!!
Maybe they were disappointed that this was the next movie from the director of THE HANGOVER???
Having watched it at the cinema, I found it to be thoroughly entertaining.
The Chemistry between Robert Downey Jnr and Zach Galifianakis was spot on.
Robert Downey Jnr was Brilliant. Zach Galifianakis was better in this than he was in The Hangover.
The cameos by Juliette Lewis and Jamie Foxx were adequate.
The Road movie concept works a treat.
The Film is not a Nice and Fluffy Ben Stiller type of family comedy.
Its aimed more at adults who will have a stomach for a bit of the Outrageous.
At times it is Meaner and Crueller than it problee needs to be.
And it could have done with out the scene in the car with Zach Galifianakis and the Dog pleasuring themselves.
As it seemed like a very cheap Gross Out laugh 15 Years too late.
Defo worth checking out if you fancy a Edgier comedy than the normal stuff out there.

P.S - the kid got a punch, coz he started it.

Due Date works best as an updated version of the classic 1987 movie Trains Planes and Automobiles, but this time the ever excellent Robert Downey Jr replaces the then funny Steve Martin and "Fat Jesus" Zach Galifanakis takes over from the sadly missed John Candy.
Downey Jr plays Peter Highman brilliantly as the highly strung business man desperatly trying to get to the birth of his first child after being forced off a commercial jet due to Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis) the two then set on a cross country journey to get to L.A in time before Peter's wife gives birth. There is nothing new in the concept but what is new is how perfectly Director Todd Phillips (The Hangover) balances the belly laughs ( a kid gets a stomach punch from Peter, Ethan and his pug dog take things in hand before sleep, not to mention a very bad cup of coffee) with a heart felt back story. Galifianakis's Ethan Tremblay is not such a stretch from who he played in The Hangover, but he perfectly balances the oaf and child like innocence. Downey Jr was born to play Peter Highman as he rapidly begins to stress like a coiled up spring until he finds himself.
This film may not have the same laugh ratio of The Hangover, but it's also a slightly more subtle film and is without a doubt the best comedy of 2010.

Pros: Hilarious comedy from start to finish. Awesomely funny acting from Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis. If you liked The Hangover, You'll love this.
Cons: Some scenes suffered because it had been put in the trailer, but it was forgivable.

A definite purchase. Worth every penny.

What a film. Can not wait for this to come back. Well worth it. Zach Galifianakis basically picks up where he left off from The Hangover, dumb, loveable and VERY funny throughout. The scene where they drink the coffee has to be one of the best! =)
