Red (Blu-ray)

The original trailer for this movie looked great, what a line up of actors! All the reviews on here would also have you believe this is one hell of a movie. But sadly I have tried twice now to watch this film just in case I missed something that everyone else was getting.

Sadly no, I didn't miss anything, the movie just doesn't engage you on any level, the performances are the most unconvincing seen from any of these great actors. This film is so 1 dimensional it's not even a switch your brain off and enjoy movie, because I just found it so ridiculous on all levels.

Its not a silly, fun, action movie, its just boring.

This film is utterly ridiculous,and i hated it.There is a scene where someone fires a rocket propelled missile at a person,only to have that person fire a bullet at it and hit it. If it was a superhero film,it would be fine,but its old codgers,who have such incredible reactions and eyesight.My true rating would be minus 10 stars

i adore the actors in this it's just the film is real dyer if it was not for good acting then this would be 1 star but it has a few sharp touches to keep it just about going

I really enjoyed Red, great cast, great action & just good fun really. Its not to be taken too seriously of course, those of you who are expecting a drama or something look elsewhere. This is definitely worth a look though.

This is a very funny and action packed film that i had my doubts about watching.
John Malkovich steals the film from everyone and Bruce Willis give his best action performance in years.
Blu Ray quality is superb,sharp and clear pictures and vibrant coloursand the sound is equally impressive.

Watched this when there was nothing left to watch on a flight. Absolutely rubbish. WIth the cast line up I thought it would have been great. They really should be embarrassed about this stinker of a film.

The film basically is an roughly linked group of action scenes. No Plot, no character development, no subtext.

Schwentke has decided that his audience are stupid viewers who just want to see stunts with famous actors faces in the shot.

I have trodden in more entertaining things in the park.

This is The Expendables, but with a story line... & good actors... Oh & humour. Thourally enjoyable & Blu-Ray shows off action scenes well with phenomenal sound!

This was a great surprise of a film. Brilliant acting. Good story (had to bear with it a little at the beggining) and I love that fact that all the actors are over a certain age and hope to see more films like this in the future. Bruce Willis once again flex's his muscles and boy is he good at it.

Frank who is acted by "Bruce Willis" is a retired Black-ops CIA agent trying to live a normal life and then one day his house gets hit by a hit squad that try to kill him. Willis takes them all out with ease and shows he is a real pro even if he is getting old. Willis then sets out get the rest of his old crew which are in danger too. Theres "Morgan Freeman" as Joe in which he gives his normal excellent performance. I must say as great as Willis and Freeman are it's "John Malkovich" who plays the role of Marvin that really shines in Red with all his very funny lines and ways! Last of all we have the wonderful actress "Helen Mirren" as Victoria who is a cold blooded killer with a heart. Even with a less famous cast Red would have still been a Excellent film because the script and action are of a very high standard but, thats why it attracted such a top class of actors in the first place. Another great film worth seeing which stars Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman is Lucky Number Slevin. There is some interesting extras with Audio commentary with retired CIA field officer Robert Baer, Interviews with the cast and hear an experts comments on CIA procedure. If you like your films smart and funny with cool action then Red is for you and the blu-ray transfar is very good too.

I thought this was great fun laughs with a great cast worth a watch and i would and will watch again.
