  Machete doesn't text.

I love the Tarantino/Rodriguez styling, giver their movies a '70's B movie feel. Danny Trejo must be one of the most interesting actor's alive.
Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba and Lindsay Lohan(even the mom) are hot. The ending promotes two sequel's that are typically hilarious.

  It's all about Danny Trejo

I think this is the movie that Robert Rodriguez should have made as part of his ill fated Grindhouse Collabroation with Tarantino a few years ago.
Instead he made Planet terror, which was fun, but nowhere near as good or as much fun as MACHETE.
A Bloody and Violent story of Love, Betrayal and REVENGE, the Machete way.
Nice to see some big names agreeing to do supporting roles to give a Bit Part Acting Legend his own Lead role in a Movie.
A Truly Eclectic Cast on the top of their game when it comes to having fun. De Niro is good as the Slimy Governor, it's nice to see Seagal in Mainstream movie after a long time, same goes for Don Johnstone. The ladies all look stunning and are bad asses in their own right.
But this is all about Danny Trejo and he just rocks the show from start to finish.
A Rumoured Trilogy is meant to be in the work, Machete Kills and Machete Kills Again, and they could be real fun if they can surround Machete with an eclectic cast like they did for this movie.

  Poorman's 80s Action flick 5/10

It started ok. Trejo was decent as the main star. But he doesnt say much and the plot is wafer thin. Now I love this style of movie and yearn for a return to the action hero days but this is just a bit too big and daft. Its watchable but the action is samey and eventually becomes very boring. And there's loads of s..l...o...w.. m..o..t..i..o..n. It just gets very repetitive very quickly. It has a great cast but many of these are wasted, especially De Niro. I was really looking forward to this and it is worth a watch , its just very very disappointing.

  Maybe I Missed The Point.

Machete (2010) is a grindhouse inspired action thriller starring Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, Steven Segal, Don Johnson and Robert De Niro.

There is a lot of violence and nudity to be enjoyed in this movie and Trejo creates a pretty decent hero but ultimately I just felt this movie was a very hollow experience.

Machete has a first rate cast but does very little with them. Alba is reduced to a cliched eye candy role, Lohan hardly appears and De Niro is completely wasted in a role totally underserving of the great actors talent.

Co-director Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) is once again taking it easy and although there is fun to be had this movie left me feeling like the director and cast could have done so much better.

  fun fun and more fun

robert rodriguez will not win oscars for this, thats a fact, but what he does is give us fans who have watched his movies sinse dusk til dawn and desperado exactly what we want ENTERTAINMENT.
what started as a spoof trailer has turned into a highly entertaining movie driven by fan pressure to get it made and has not dissapointed. you only have to look at the actors that rodriguez attracts, clooney, willis, banderez,de niro to name a few to realise they have faith in him, these movies have much lower budgets and paydays for big actors, but for most they are a breath of fresh air from the usual hyped box office smashes.steven segal too, have you ever seen him play a bad guy that deals drugs, kills women and children, hardly type cast and a good spin on what we may expect.as for the rest of it, dont read the reviews, just buy it and watch it, dare you not to enjoy it.

This bad ass action movie is great,i like it.
Danny Trejo cuts all in pieces, much head, arms and blood all over, its like a Tarantino movie with a dark humour.
And the ladies here is also great, they shoot like tuff men.
Blu ray picture and sound is very good, pump up the volume....

You'll eather love the Grindhouse films or loath them.
In 2007 we were treated to the first two Grindhouse offerings in the form of Death Proof and Planet Terror.
These were originally to be viewed as a double feature as they perfectly recaptured the Z grade production values of the flea pitt features of the early days of video.
Unfortunatley the double feature format of Death Proof and Planet Terror was to prove a box-office bomb in the U.S. and the movies were released this side of the pond as seperate extended films, that some what spoilt the intended experience.
With these features were brilliant mock trailers and the most remembered was the one of Machete.
The trailer grew a massive fan base for fans of the Grindhouse movies and Director Robert Rodriguez has given into fan base demands and brought us this feature length adaption of that spoof trailer.
Machete does not disappoint, it's grotty, exploitation of over the top violence and nudity really does recapture the cheap thrills of the past. The cast is fantastic, what other film would you get Robert De Niro and Steven Seagal sharing screen time along with Don Johnson, Jessica Alba and of course the legend that is Danny Trejo as Machete.
The film is a over the top orgy of blood, bullets, and violence as every gets cut, sliced and diced, all backed up with a pretty smart script that also makes a social comment.
It not subtle, but it's very funny and needs to be re-watched.
The down side is the serious lack of Blue Ray bonus features with only deleted scenes a few trailers, but the added Audience Reaction option really does add to the fun of the movie.
If you love grindhouse, you'l love this.
See if you like.....
Death Proof.
Planet Terror.
Desperado.
Once Upon A Time In Mexico.
From Dusk Till Dawn.
Exterminator.
Bronx Warriors.
