Tron Legacy: Limited Collector's Edition (Play.com Exclusive) (Blu-ray)

This is made from cardboard and not that good for the money, still it is limited to 1000 and when its gone its gone so i had to get some.

I just want to put my thoughts forward on this set. This is not a review on the films just the set. When I received it I was a little disappointed that it is only cardboard but from a distance it does look quite good especially if the light hits it in the right way. And the goodies you get inside are good but it would have been nice to have had just one or two other exclusive items inside but you can not have everything. I do think that this set could have been produced a lot better than it had been. The US set which has now sold out was plastic and in the shape of an identity disc and lit up too. It would have been nice if Play had made this set plastic and with the ability for the cube to light up and perhaps being able to detach one or two of the identity discs on the side. Yes it would have made it more expensive but that would have been a pretty cool set and I am sure would have been snapped up even before the pre-order date had arrived. It is a shame as Play has produced some incredible world wide exclusives in the past if only the same well thought out ideas were used here this set could have been truly incredible. But as it is its good but could have been so much better. At least it has got one thing that is nice to know if you have one you will be one of only one thousand people worldwide to own one and that is the reason why this set will be bought because it is that limited and will be that rare forever. So do not let me put you off and do not get me wrong I like the set just wish a little more thought had gone into it. If you are a fan of Tron or exclusives sets then do if you can get a hold of it before it goes. At the very least you will be able to say I have one.

In 1982, Tron was the most advanced movie of it's time. It took years for other movies of other production companies to replicate the advancement and technology the company used for the film. Tron Legacy is no different. With graphic technology far beyond it's time, even without the 3D feature, it beats any other movie with its plot, as well as its graphics. With it's crystal-clear picture, booming sound and great storyline, it's by far one of the best movies this year. Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde, virtual newcomers to big budget productions such as Tron, were able to keep up with mega movie-star Jeff Bridges which is definitely a feat. Jeff Bridges is, without a doubt, legendary, and I love that the storyline wasn't much of a stretch from the first Tron - it actually fit perfectly, and it's great that Flynn's Arcade remained the same from the 1982 film. Spectacular - that's all I can say.

This was the last movie I saw in the cinema in December 2010 and it was certainly one of the most exciting movies of the year!! For starters it was certainly the most visually cool looking film by a long shot, fantastic effects that really got you pulled into the whole tron universe and made it believable!! The soundtrack too by Daft Punk was awesome!! A very powerful score that really sits well along side the amazing effects. The story for me was very good too and was really the only way to carry on from the fantastic and classic original movie! The cast was very good Jeff Bridges was on form and did really well resurrecting his character Flynn, and Olivia Wilde is very sexy, This is a MUST buy on Blu-ray for any true fan of the original and anyone else who wants to see something cool and original looking, kids also will certainly get into it, theres plenty of action with the light cycle chases etc. Make sure you dont miss this one....

I enjoyed the music in the movie, I'm glad it's included in the boxset and the novel & artcards look interesting.
Not all of us have a 3D Blu-ray player or TV and the 3D Version is available to buy separately if you wanted it. I'd say this appeals more to the existing Blu-ray fan like me and I can't wait to show it off on my mantel piece.
