...and NO, the first isn't The Godfather. It is, in fact, Mean Streets, in my opinion.
But, I'm here to talk about 'Once Upon a Time in America', so, here goes...
The first time I saw this film, I was bored out of my mind. I was about 10 years old, and boy, did this film drag. Years later, I went through a phase, were I watched Sergio Leone films constantly, and that is where my love for the great director came from. During this time, I gave this film a second viewing, and I really enjoyed it.
I realised, that I was far to young to understand it when I was ten, but during my second viewing, I got it completely.
I have seen the film numerous times since, and consider it the second greatest gangster film ever made, with top performances, and an amazing score.
