There may be some fans that are divided with Tennant and Smith or Davies and Moffat but really. Just accept that DW is evolving, regenerating into something new which is what keeps DW fresh. If a man can bring us Weeping Angels he has surely earned his Scouts Create a Monster Badge. Bonus on this disc is the proms with Murry Gold's fantastic soundtracks! 38 going on 8!

how can aprogramme with russell t davis and david tennant produce such amazing xmas specials and then as soon as them 2 quit it comes out with this tripe.amy pond and katherine jenkins make it near watchable but still not quite. matt smith and steven moffatt have ruined what david tennant and davismade so great starting from the incredible episode new earth all the way through all the 2009 specials and many great xmas specials.at least james corden will be in episode 12 of series 6 so thats something positive, thatsonly 12 episodes that need to be dismissed in the new series

Best Who Xmas special yet. Whilst watching it on Christmas Day, I realised I wasn't just watching some good Who, but a magical piece of television. Highly recommended.

It's a shame to see the negative reviews, after years of incoherant nonsense finally we have a superb christmas special. The underlying premise is clever and well executed.
Jenkins shows she may have a successful secondary career as an actress (and given this is her first acting role that was particularly impressive) and Gambon is superb as ever.
I can understand some people taking issue with things such as the shark sleigh ride, it definitely only works at christmas (the Christmas themes run non stop throughout the episode). Buy it, but perhaps don't watch it until next christmas. It's not bad who, but it is fantastic holiday cheer (and I feel sorry for anyone who was bah humbuging it all the way through).
