Kristen Wiig leads the cast as Annie, a maid of honor whose life unravels as she leads her best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph), and a group of colorful bridesmaids (Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper) on a wild ride down the road to matrimony.

Annie's life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian's maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she'll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you'll go for someone you love.

There has not been too many great comedies this last year but the ones we have had have been very hit and miss, this by far is a massive HIT, a very funny and brilliantly written comedy with an amazing cast of some of the worlds funniest comedy actresses, this is two hours of total hilarity and at the same time a beautiful story, this film is miles better than the hangover 2, a very unique stylish film thats certainly worth a watch, money well spent.

the film does have many moments of humour along with a bucket full of smutt, think the latter does take over a bit full-on at times.
the story tells the tale of 'annie' who's best friend 'lillian' is about to get married, 'annie' is asked to be maid of honour.
'five' bridesmaids in all, well, a certain ammount of bitching and competion is threatening the brides day.
'annie' is having a tough time in life, no stable relashionship, a lost business, a duff car among many downsides to her life, now her friendship with 'lillian' feels under threat.....
yup....worth a spin.

 A couple of laughs....

I am sorry to have to be in the minority here, but this was not the great comedy event that it is billed to be. I am also sorry that I 'used up' a couple of valuable hrs sitting, waiting, wanting this film to be good. There was potential, the food poisoning episode which was obviously supposed to be the height of hilarity fell a bit flat as it was all a bit..... Clean. There were a couple of amusing bits in amongst a generally drab and formulaic plot but mostly it wasn't worth the effort. Disappointed.

One of my favourite films I've ever seen so far
